Hi everyone! I just want to let you guys know, because people still send me personal messages about my email to my Senators (which is totally fine, happy to help in any way!!) I am going to take a break from VJ. I have gotten to the point where I can't be happy for others who got through USCIS in 2 weeks or who got their case set up at the NVC in three weeks. I hate to admit it, but its true. And to me, that means I need a break and an attitude adjustment. I am going to go spend a couple months with my husband and try and forget the NVC even exists.

I will check back in once and awhile, so keep sending me messages anyone who wants to. And of course, good luck to all :)

Hi guys!

So, NVC received our case on July 22nd (I discovered on a call on July 28th). In 9 business days - July 31st - we had our case # assigned, AOS bill and DS-261 invoiced (we discovered through email NVC sent my husband, who was here with me in actually, spending his summer vacations)

We paid the bill and completed the DS261, and the AOS package he'll send tomorrow (he arrived today in the US, and didn't have all his info here in Brazil to send in the package).

My question is: is it normal to have the case # assigned so fast and the AOS bill invoiced right away? From now on are they "slowing down" with us because we had a "fast beginning"? I must confess we're both excited (I wasn't expecting anything from them until the end of August) and scared (why did they send it so fast to us??),so it would be nice to hear if any of you had a similar experience or just an opinion to give. :goofy:

Hi dear, I dont think so it is a problem. I think at your stage Nvc is not backlogged. So dont worry of the fast beginning. :)

Enjoy your time with your husband and think of days where this will not be all you think about! We all need to do whatever is needed to take care of ourselves and our marriages, before anything else. This website is invaluable to all of us, but it it really hard not to constantly compare timelines and ask "Why me?" or "Why not me?" It can make a sane person crazy and I think you should take a break if you need to. We'll all be here when you return! Good luck and enjoy Peru!

Hi guys, I'm excited to say our expedite request was approved today! I'm suffering form some health issues and submitted the request on July 31st. I'm so overwhelmed and elated that they approved this request. You all have been so helpful and amazing during this whole process! My question is, what now? Anybody been through the expedite process? How long do we wait for them to contact us in regards to setting up an interview date and medical? Am I able to track my package leaving NVC and going to the embassy the same as if it were done through a normal case complete? It's through the Sydney consulate, so I'm trying to figure it all out because my husband would need to buy a flight to go out there.

Any information you all have would be amazing!!

I'll make sure to offer up as much information as we are going through the rest of the process!

Still rooting for all of you!!!

congrats!!!I got mine granted on Aug 7th (sent the request on July 20th), i called the NVC last week,a rep told me i stiil have to wait for 30 business days for my AOS package done reviewing, yesterday morning, another Rep told me that i dont need to wait for that long to finish reviewing my package, and last night i was told by another rep that NVC wont be able to review my documents, the embassy will be reviewing my documents, so NVC is telling me all different stories.. Today, they told me my file will be ready to send out within 48 to 72 hours. from my research,(i spend so much time on google since i found out this news)once your expedite request is granted, NVC will wrap up everything they have in the file, and send it to the embassy electronically, people here in VJ filer last year takes just in one day to send everything out of NVC, (everything seems very fast before this backlog in here currently), once your file is out of NVC, you are ending communication with them, you have to call or email consulates to schedule an interview, because your case is expedited, they will assign your interview date so quickly, for now, you still have to call NVC, you have to find out when they will send you files to your embassy.

So I was going to call and check if case number had been assigned yet when I got home from work. NVC beat me to it though and I got an email with the numbers in it. Got home went to ceac and was able to fill out DS261. They said I should be able to pay fees in 3-5 days. I know about all the wait times and all of that jazz but for right now I am totally stoked.

nice!

your receive date is 2 days before mine so here's hoping I can get a case number soon and get this process started

Hmm, just realised I didn't enter my middle name into the given name fields on the DS-260. I wonder if that will be a problem?

I doubt if it will be any problem, you can't correct the mistake except you call NVC but if it were me, I won't call NVC so they don't mess up with anything. You can mention it at the interview.
