According to NVC it's not necesary.

Petitioner Documents

If you are applying for an IR5 (Parent of a U.S. Citizen) visa, you are required to provide:

-Original or certified copy of your Petitioners birth certificate

-Original or certified copy of your Petitioners marriage certificate from the Petitioners current and all previous marriages

Thank you NLR! This is just my attempt to “idiot proof” my IV package, so that no one reviewing it and say: “Checklist!” I am at a point, where I will gladly give a pint of blood and a kidney just to get this process done and over with.

Hi guys, I have question, I looked through NVCs wiki but I couldn't find an answer specific to my situation.

for beneficiary... on form I-864... Should I put "maiden name" or Married name? in part 2? on DS-261 I put same info as passport... and since visa will be issued (I assume) under same name as passport. Should I put maiden name aswell in that form?

I'm anxious about that...I reaaally don't want to get checklisted for anything at all! already got an RFE back in USCIS stage and i want to avoid further delays.

Thanks for the help! :)

Put whatever is the beneficiary's current last name. If that's their maiden name, put that. If it's their married name, put that.

Regardless, whatever name is in the passport is what the visa will be printed with (and thus the green card after).

Hi Saylin, CR1 got approved yesterday. Thanks for your stickies/wikis!

Woohoo, congrats!!! :dancing::dancing:

Thank you, Saylin, for including the link! I will have a copy ready by interview time, just in case. Infopass is scheduled for 08/22.

Hi,

I want to share about my checklist. It was for my marriage certificate in native language(Urdu). Although it was mentioned under country reciprocal documents that English marriage certificate is also good but they didn't accept it. So all from Pakistan must include this. Same is for police certificate because there is a set pattern for them which they follow and send you a checklist if it is different in any manner.

Another point to mention for all is that when my spouse talked to supervisor he said although you sent the document mentioned on our website but still I cannot do anything for you as any action can be taken against your request when your case will be pulled out by system. Which obviously will take 60 days:'( .

Hope this will answer your question samreen that crying will not help you at all because they are not ready to take any action unless your file is pulled out by their system.

I have no idea what are the systems in other countries but I feel it is similar to the passport data entry in Pakistan where token numbers appear randomly at different stations and operators can't do anything their own.

Like Saylin said, if you can get a certified copy then you could send that as well.

Oh! And she asked me if I had sent my IV documents in, and if I had not I should right away. I know some people were asking what the benefit is for that. Everyone is in a different place with different difficulties, but for us we wanted to send it ASAP because it takes 10-20 days to get from Serbia to the US. I told her we had, and that I attentioned it to DR. She told me that it was fine. Attn: DR or Attn: CMR, either one will work. So I hope that brings some peace to somebody!

So, Police Clearance Certificate is required for NVC stage even if it clearly states on their website that it's not required for consular processing.:shocked::shocked:

I can't justify the reason why some DS-261s are processed faster than others, but as to the first bit about it taking them that long to accept a one page form online. Remember, it's not the length of the form or the complexity to review it, it's because there's THOUSANDS of DS-261s in line to be reviewed and only so many people to review them, so it's naturally going to take them awhile to get to each one.

I understand there are thousands of applications being received at the NVC but it makes it sound like there are just a handful of people working there. There may be thousands of one page forms that need to be accepted, but how long does that honestly take? 60 days? I don't think so.

The visa will be picked up on Monday!! Immigrant Extortion Fee will be paid that day!

Cute fact: our anniversary is August 22nd, and it was on that day in 1960 that Sally fell in love with Linus in the Peanuts comic strip! My Sweet Babboo is coming home with me!!
