I wondering if my boyfriend has to come Guatemala to be with me at the embassy interview... He is having some issues to fly in the next few months .. In this 7 moths visited me twice already...

some embassies almost require it - Ecuadaor, Dominican Republic.

When you study interview reports from your portal (click your flag) what do you see about petitioner being present for interview?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Based on the information given, he should not be attending the interview at all.

If you are filing for K1 VISA, then state so. It is for Fiances and not boyfriends/girlfriends..

So if you meant to ask if your fiance has to come to the Interview, then I suggest you do what the above poster said.

I'm going to assume you meant to type "fiance" and not "boyfriend", right?

Can your fiance attend the interview? Yes. Does he have to attend the interview? No. It's okay if he is not able to travel when you have your interview.

Looking at several recent K1 interview comments from Guatemala portal,

looks like (US) fiancee attended the interview together.

This doesn't necessarily mean the (US) fiancee is absolutely required for Guatemala,

but I think you should call the embassy and confirm this positively and not take a guessing chance at this.

Also, as others have noted, "fiancee" and "boy friend" has different meaning,

so be sure to start calling him "fiancee", especially during the interview.

I had to correct this for my fiancee as well.

Embassy personnel can lie (and have lied) when asked if the presence of the petitioner is required.

The petitioner's presence on the consular premises NEVER hurts and can help.

There's nothing quite like being refused the visa because the petitioner wasn't on the premises.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You're not going to get any help calling the embassy since you will speak to a call agent from Transactel, a different company. I am the Guatemalan citizen and did the interview myself, my fiancé at the time couldn't come with me, as long as you know which papers are which (read the name of each document and have them organized in a way when they ask for it you remember, you will be fine... Three other k-1 petitioners where there with me and they didn't have their stuff organized, I was approved. If you have any questions feel free to direct message me.

U.S. embassy Thailand does not even let me enter the building but when the CO asked Songsang "when was the last time I visited her?" she responded..."he`s standing outside right now" which drew a large smile from the CO.

Si, Man ! :thumbs: Agree with TBone.

I was in Guangzhou for my wife and stepson's visa interview (third trip). The US consulate does not permit the US petitioner to be in attendance at the interview. However, I know that my then-fiancee really appreciated my support and presence at this very important and stressful time in our relationship.
