So I had my interview on friday the 18th http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=14864 :TL:DR - Was ACCEPTED pending I-864

I had the wrong Affidavit of support, which was all our own fault and we accept that, but at the first interview window the officer said that all I needed to do was to get the correct paper work from my wife and using the courier service, get it back to London for them to complete the application (no need for ME to go back down)

After my interivew, I got an email saying I needed to also send down part 2 of DS-230.

Now neither the first interview window officer OR the email mentions the passport.

So my questions are :

Do I send: I-864+Tax Forms+ Letter from wifes emplyment along with Part 2 of the DS230 and wait for a response?

Or,

Do I send: I-864+TaxForm+Letter+PT2 DS-230+Passport? (I would assume this one so that they can get it all done at once) Just looking for clarification.

Also,

How do I go about arranging for the courier to pick these up from me? It wasnt explained to me

Thanks for any replies in advance.

Yes, they need your passport so they can put the visa in it. I am kinda confused by DS-230 Part 2 since that sounds like the old paper version.

The DX secure people are supposed to help you with the pickup from your home and delivery to the embassy if you call 0871 562 6666,

However since about a year ago, they tell people they don't do that anymore. That is when the online pay and scheduling altered their contract with the embassy. They may say they only offer the pick up service for US passports. It has been a hitch in the operation because I think the officer assumes it it like always and DX say we no longer do that. But try the number and see if you get anywhere.

One person worked it out by calling his closest depot and taking the items to the depot and paying for delivery to the embassy. There is a list of depots here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/niv/information/courier_dropboxes

He had already paid for the delivery back to him before the interview. If you have not done that then pay a to/from fee at the depot.

Wish I had a clearer answer, but I just remember the problems people have had since the online scheduling (August 1, 2013). They called and called and finally went to a depot.

Please update this thread when you work out how to do it.

So, I guess it depends who/how you contaxt DX, I emailed them yesteday after not getting through to them on the phone, simply stated my issue and what to do.

I got a reply this morning simply saying

Can I please have your phone number so we can contact you to arrange a collection? The next available day now is tomorrow 25/07/2014 and you can pay for it over the phone with visa, mastercard, visa debit and maestro.

While typing this, I actually recieved a second email from DX saying this.

Hello Mr Jackson,

In order to arrange a collection and / or delivery of your documents to be sent to the US Embassy please complete the following information:

Number of Applicants:

Full Name of Main Applicant

Full Collection Address

Telephone Number – Mobile Landline

Full Return Address

Once this information is received this will be passed over to our DX team based at the US Embassy who will then call on the number provided to arrange for the collection and take the payment for this service via debit / credit card.

Thanks very much

By the response of both emails, they dont seem to mind too much regarding sending packages down. (good news for all in similar situations).

Good to hear it is sorted out. Can you post what email address you got the response from?

Ofcourse,

First that was asking for my phone number gave me francieli.moreira@thedx.co.uk to reply to

Second which used a sort of webform response that looked like:

Number of Applicants:
Full Name of Main Applicant:
Full Collection Address:
Telephone Number – Mobile: Landline:
Full Return Address:

Just off the phone with them, they are going to be picking up my papers on Monday all that the low cost of £8. (I had already paid for the return delivery). Pretty happy with this, cant wait for this part of the process to be done with!! :)

Hello. By wrong I-864, do you mean the old revision of the form or erroneously filled? My wife's interview is around the corner, and my 864 is bound to be deemed "does not meet" in earnings, but her co-sponsor's will suffice. Although, when you cannot meet the requirements yourself, than you always worry, right ;)

Never mind. I just read your interview review and I saw that you handed them a I-134 instead of I-864. Hope you got everything squared up by now. Good luck in your new chapter (living in the U.S.).

P.S. I'm not sure why that is, but some reviewers say the Embassy didn't want copies and some say they do. I'll have mine just in case.

Don't send an I-864 you need an I-134, unless that's changed but I don't think so.

I was TOLD by the consuler officer at the interview desk to send the I-864.

I actually got a phonecall today telling me that my Application was approved and getting sent out. (having recieved said I-864)

Thanks to everyone for their help.
