Hi ^_^

I'm new on here. And I'm very happy to have come across this site. If anyone can help clarify the confusion behind the "5 months" processing time frame the USCIS has on its website for K1 visa but they're still working on December 17 2013.

5 months is about the average for texas service center with some taking 7-8 months. I've seen some people get there form back in less than 5 months while others wait longer. But just remember the 5 months is just for USCIS portion and then you have to do the NVC process and US Consulate stuff.

Thank you I appreciate your responses, a few weeks after I posted this I got an email that they transferred my case due them realigning jurisdictions....anyways just last week I finally got word that its now at the California service center. But I just got another email for RFE and I'm quite mortified actually because I sent everything I had even a paternity affidavit. Idk what else they'd need to prove our relationship is real.

Could be something simple like forgetting to tick a box or forgetting to sign something. just wait for the letter. I hope its something you can easily correct
