@converts yes, she would be eligible to file ROC in 2016 or late 2015 - 3 months before the GC expires. I guess her immigration worries can be tackled by VJ hence her post. She probably just ended one immigration journey and worried there may be dark(er) days ahead.

Her concern for her husband's well being, only the police can help with that.
