Okay, I just called and got my nvc case number. Now, should I send her the I-129f packet and book the medical and the interview, or do I need to wait for something else to be mailed to me?

our last uscis update was an alien reg. # changed on the 22nd of july.

nothing since then.

hopes were high, now.. not so high

but all we can do is wait!

The wait is going to get even worse for me. We had to put our dog down last week. I had moved to a new town for work last year and I was laid off in July. I know next to no one here and don't see much point to making friends if I'm going to be here for another five or six months.

So either I get another dog right away or I drive myself mental checking this site for updates every five minutes.

When it rains it pours! So sorry about your dog! Our dog is like a person to us in our family!

I only allow myself to check my timeline adjudication date and my Ceac Status every Monday. The rest of the week I try to stay busy with other things, of course easier said than done!

Yeah, I'm trying to busy my mind with reading and learning and stuff but I'm also easily distracted.

I'm trying not to look at the timeline updates more than once a week, otherwise I go crazy. I checked Igor's list and I've dropped to 348. Then again, I've also seen cases fly through the process unexpectedly, so I'm now "prepared for the worst," but hoping for the best. I've tried to keep busy creating "alternate wedding plans" based on different time scenarios, so I will be prepared for any option that arises...that's helped a LITTLE. But as Bea said above, the hardest part of all is knowing we will most likelybe physically separated from our loved ones for even longer than we had hoped.

Another thing I've been doing to try to help with the waiting game, is trying to get things ready for his final arrival, looking for job options once he can work, etc. Constantly searching for cheap flights is another way to keep busy, as the flight prices fluctuate constantly and we want to try to get a visit in now that it appears we won't be seeing each other as soon as originally planned.

Reading the posts on here can also make me feel like we are not alone in this process, and that helps (except when we get the nasty posts from people who don't understand that some of us just need this forum to "vent" and find support). We are all on this journey together, and I like to think we ultimately want us all to get through as quickly as we can. Here's to hoping things speed up soon.

Left NVC today 8/15/14. In route to Consular.

Medical scheduled for 8/18.

Interview scheduled for 8/28.

Did you get packet yet of additional data required or was there a packet with NOA2.

I and i am sure others are well trying to plan ahead through reading your posts

No packet with NOA2. It's all online. NVC will just send you a generic letter stating your MNL# but you won't get that until well after the number is available by phone and the file has already been sent to the consular.

The embassy hasn't sent a letter as of yet. I'm guessing they will, just to state they received the packet but it's already apparent from the online status updates. Their letter will just be a generic as well letting us know we can proceed....ha. If you wait on the U.S. government and/or the philippine government you'll waste half your life away waiting!!

I don't think I actually updated here since I posted about my approval message. My petition was mailed to NVC on 11Aug. I only called the NVC twice; once on 15Aug, petition not received yet and again on 22Aug about 9am when I learned they began processing on 20Aug. I got our SGP case number and figured it would be a few more days before it left. Late that night I checked the case status and discovered it was IN TRANSIT to the Embassy in Singapore. Woohoo! Still shows IN TRANSIT but I have started taking care of other things. I reprinted my petition packet, more evidences and the I-134 to send to Lin. I also ordered her CENOMAR to have it sent to the Embassy since they won't accept it any other way. We also submitted her DS-160 as well. We can't do much else until the Embassy gets the petition and sends her the packet. She still needs to get police clearances from Singapore and Hong Kong but those require the request letter in the packet. She also has to request an new NBI clearance as well. Her interview won't be scheduled until we receive all of that and send the packet 3 response form back. So I'm anticipating another month at least before she has everything she needs. Then there's the medical and vaccines but we need to wait until the interview is scheduled so we can schedule the medical about 2 weeks in advance.

They send a generic letter saying proceed. I take it in the letter saying you can proceed it says proceed with getting police certificates and medical exam.

So can someone say what is in the packet and what a person needs to do then?

I am missing something here or am I confusing myself with the facts?
