So i'm in the 1st step of the K1 visa process, I have the necessary documents ready to go, I've made the necessary copies, have the check for 340$ ready... My question is how do I go about packaging the paperwork, any ideas? Should I just take it to UPS or Fedex and let them do it? Any insight will be great, thanks.

Get one of them industrial size paper clips to hold everything together, then drop it all in one of those shipping envelopes. FEDEX, UPS OR USPS with signature required.. then send it to the appropriate address and the waiting game begins.

Thank you, i'm all nervous making sure I cover all the bases, the process is long enough, don't want to make a mistake now :) thanks everyone.

Ya I was nervous then also, I followed the guide here on VJ, I used a big black paper clip ... no issues.

Haha yes good thought! lol

My wife have been here a couple years now and still isn't crazy about the 100+ temps. She does enjoy wandering about Tombstone and stopping for ice cream at the south end of town. ;)

I have been to Tombstone way too many times, but it is a ride on the motorcycle so what the heck...

More clouds tonight, now to see if it rains.

Is she flying in to Tucson or you driving up to Phoenix?

Large clips, colored sheets of paper in between each category. Sticky notes or labels to name each category.

Example : Trip 1, Trip 2. .....yahoo chats, skype loges, phone calls.....then a larger clip for all of it.

Don't forget a cover letter.

Keep it simple, they will take it apart and re organize it anyway.

Ask yourself if you were the officer what would you like to see quickly without having to dig through stuff like an accordion folder ?

Don't need yahoo/skype/phone logs ... that is for the embassy visa application. There is absolutely no reason to front load as Manila is not THAT kind of difficult.

Hank had a good suggestion with the Large Black clip which works well. Don't go overboard with your organization. If you use the cover letter use it as a checklist that all documents are included in the package and in order. This will give the agent easy access to find your documents.

You may want to add a cover sheet. Here is an example:

[PETITIONER’S NAME]

[PETITIONER’S ADDRESS]

United States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

[ADDRESS OF FILING LOCATION]

[DATE]

Nature of the submission: I-129F ORIGINAL SUBMISSION

To Whom It May Concern:

Enclosed please find my Form I-129F, Petition for K-1 Fiancé[e] Visa for [bENEFICIARY’S NAME], and supporting documents.

Contents include:

  • Payment in the amount of $ [PUT IN CORRECT FEE].
  • I-129F
  • I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, explanation of meeting in person [ONLY IF USED ADDITIONAL SHEET]
  • G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner)
  • G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary)
  • Birth certificate/US Passport (Petitioner)
  • Letter certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
  • Proof of having met in person in the past two years
  • Proof of ongoing relationship [if including]

Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and I understand that I may be required to submit original documents to an Immigration or Consular officer at a later date.

Just slide your papers into an envelope and mail it! I sent my petition by express mail, and I used the express envelope at the post office to send it. My petition was about 70 pages.

Hank, I was in Ariz when it was 115. I was also in Manila when it was 95. With the huge humidity difference, I liked Ariz weather better.

Ya the humidity is a muther for sure, but then motorcycling in 115+ temps is a brain pan cooker for sure.... been there done that.
