I do not see what there is to declare, just read the questions you are asked.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

So he did go to court or he did not go to court? Now it feels as if you are trying to hide something because your story is not straight.

My advice is to not lie on the form

This is the truth: he did go to court, and there was originally a record, but his record was wiped by a family member's connections. There is no court record, no police record, absolutely nothing. And he says he cannot declare anything about it because there is absolutely no evidence anywhere about it. He would have to explain about the family member who wiped it.

I am not afraid of him getting caught later. What I am afraid of is my own conscience. I do not think it is right to lie, and I don't want him to be in that position.

I know his police and court records are free and clear, like no incident ever happened.

So, you see, I am already lying about it, trying to find a way to even talk about it without revealing anything.

It would be better if we had a court record, but there is no court record.

My question is: how can we tell the truth? Telling the truth will incriminate other people, and it will be impossible to back anything up. There is no way to prove or disprove anything he says about it. It is because I simply think that lying is wrong, not because I am afraid that, if we lie, we will get caught. That is the reason I am having so much trouble over this.

Here is the question on I-485: Have you EVER been arrested, cited, charged, been convicted, fined, imprisoned....etc etc for any crime excluding traffic violations? Yes or No.

Spousal visa holders never fill out this form. So the question on it is irrelevant to your case.

OP

Dont lie about anything.

Get your husband to go and request both offical papers.

Fiche anthropométrique = police record --- حسن السيرة والسلوك

Casier Judiciaire = court record -- السجل العدلي

You will need these papers for your later stages of this Visa.

And answer with honesty on this question the way you both see it correct on the form. NO one here could or should to tell you both how to fill in your application.

Dealings with the family, and expunging are done in a quieter way other than announcing it on a public forum.

It is my opinion you are stepping in to deeper things than a yes or no question on the form.

How long have you two known each other and how well do you understand Maroc and its ways? You need to communicate better with your husband about this but first I suggest again get the TWO different official papers.

BTW what form asks you to fill out if you have been arrested???? you might be confused.

edited for the word TWO

Was it an honour killing?

I've known him long enough to know that what he says is true. And I have known about this situation for a long time, also. It is something that happened a long time ago, before I met him.

We may not end up filing at all.

No, no, no, it was not any kind of honor killing. It was literally a case where they were confronted when they were walking in an unknown area

by some strange men. It was a literal self-defense, the same as would have passed for that in the USA. It was not any kind of honor or vengeance or anything

of that nature at all.

If he went to Court then it is reasonable to assume he was at some point arrested.

Yes, Boiler. That is what I am saying. He was charged for murder, and declared innocent by the jury. It would not be a problem if we had the record. But the record is blank.

We have moved a very long way from where we started.

So yes it is an issue.
