Hello,

So me and my husband have been married for almost a year now and we filed for the CR1 visa for myself. We are currently waiting on the NOA2 which we will hopefully receive pretty soon.

Once we get it, how long do we have to wait for an interview in the Bogota Embassy?

Our lawyer told us I should have the visa by early this fall but I've been reading other stories that talk about almost a year. I can't wait that long!

Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hello Lauvis.

It takes about 3-4 months AFTER the NOA1 to get the second notification (NOA2). It also depends on the Service Center that is processing the paperwork. Apparently, the California office is the fastest one.

You can go to the Colombian forum and get in touch with people that are going through a similar situation (it's K-1 but still works)

And when you start your AOS you can check: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/301640-colombianos-ajuste-status-k1-p-2/

I hope I helped you a little.

Ana

The current times from your NOA2 is your wait for it to arrive in the NVC usually about 10 days to 2 weeks and from there to the Consulate in Bogota, about a week and from there to schedule your interview which is usually about 3 weeks out although you may get lucky and find an available date earlier.

Rest easy and be patient, after the wait for the NOA2 it seems like the rest really flies by.
