If you got a blue slip of paper it is a 221-G. They also call that form an "intent to Deny" but don't let that name scare you. It just means you need to provide more evidence (usually of a relationship). Most who get a 221-G are able to end up with the visa.

12/14/2006 Applied for K-1 with request for Waver for Multiple filings within 2 years.

The letter said we are in administrative processing and they need emails, letters, cards, photos, to be sure about our relationship. They returned passports, but kept birth certificates and I-134 form as well as the I129F file.

What does all this mean?

Give them what they ask for. Lots of people go through this and end up getting approved. It doesn't necessarily mean you'll be denied.

Things are different at every consulate "matako". Perhaps you SHOULD come clean and tell us where your "fiance" had her interview . . .

matako,

It means that, given the evidence submitted thus far, they suspect that the marriage may have been entered into ionly so that the visa applicant could come to the USA and gain PR status. But they are unsure enough that they are giving the visa applicant an opportunity to provide more evidence and convince them otherwise.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just wanted to let you know that after we took the documents asked on the 221G, the visa for the K1 and K2 visas were given yesterday.

Thanks all for everyone who helped out on this.

Now we will buy the airline tickets for the family to fly into the US within the next month.
