No IV invoices yet from last week of may?? This is unbelievable! Instead of issues ds261s and aos packages to new transfers, they should take care of the ones on hand!!!

Its been 30+ days and they didnt even review my AOS package... lol

Same here but I was dumped at the Nebraska hell hole. And it's "God's time is perfect" :D

Yes, that's a good literal translation... I did the other to try to give impatient and not-very-religious Americans a sense of the idea... so many options available in translation.

Thanks Saylin, maybe I didn't explain well. It shows both the AOS fee and the supporting Documents as NA. It was not like that yesterday only showing the AOS fee(as you can see I am obsessed  )

I was just curious, I don't want them to regret giving me CC

I am paranoid?

I'm pretty sure it always shows N/A under documents ;)

Mandale los de la moto jajajja.

Fire your lawyer ASAP u dont need one. Visajourney and all of us will be able to guide you and many more for the entire process.

Good luck

Not gonna happen. She has been paid and will execute. Yes VJ is helpful, but I am the type of person that if I need stonework done? I hire a Mason. I know what my strengths and skills are and leverage others to their expertise and experience.

Yes, working with a lawyer can be frustrating since some lawyers think their time is more valuable than yours.

Well, at least you didn't have to fill out the DS-261 form and wait for 30 business days to pay the IV fee since you have a lawyer.

I kind of wish I had hired a lawyer now since it's taking forever to pay the IV fee. Time is money! :bonk:

I agree 100%. There are benefits to using a lawyer. I was just venting because like everyone else, we want what we want and we want it now! hahahaha

These lawyers are scam. We pay them thousands of dollars and what we get RFEs and checklists!

Not all lawyers are scams. Like any other industry or trade you must do your homework and research. Here is a good rule to live by, don't go cheap on lawyers and doctors. I did not pay through the nose and got someone who is quite experienced. I was just venting because I wanted the paperwork completed before the long weekend. You can not generalize like that, too many people generalize or lump certain people into a group. I am sure you have experienced this or are sympathetic to this in some form.

Thanks for the soft ears everyone...

The DS-261 is completely pointless anyway. I bet 99.9% of the people who don't use a lawyer just have the petitioner as the main representative / person who needs to be contacted (aside from the beneficiary) anyway. You already give them your email when you call to get the case number so what's even the point? It was obviously just created in the first place so that they can buy themselves time to process cases when things get too backed up (like right now.) If they are so backed up, why don't they just hire more people? There are enough people out there looking for jobs right now and processing a case can't honestly be that hard. Any of us who had to go through this process seems to know more than some of the operators at NVC even! It's insane.

Because they don't have budget to hire people. It is not about "now" it is about long term. You hire someone in the Fed and you need to think about 20 years, if they retire etc. Hence the reason for hiring so many contractors at $150 an hour in the Federal Government. It is also very hard to terminate a Federal employee. It is also very hard to hire someone because of the rate they can afford to offer. They try to hire they best that they can but due to the fact that the salaries are not market value, they do not always get the most qualified people...because the most qualified people will not work for that rate. It is not as simple as you think.

Not knocking VJ at all....I am glad you found what is best for you.

With using a lawyer there are some downfalls (as I have stated) as well as some benefits...look at my timeline. I have already paid both AoS and IV, both packets go in next week as well as the DS260 getting completed...I had to wait on the lawyer a little bit, but she has provided some benefit, guidance and assistance to someone who does not have the experience on this path.

Different strokes for different folks.

NVC is operated by a contractor. DOS could increase its productivity short-term by simply pumping money temporarily without worrying about long-term federal employment consequences. Maybe DOS could declare an emergency and tap into FEMA (I'm only half-joking for crying out loud).
