Really? What's the British connection in Minneapolis? I went to school in Madison, WI. It will be a hard sell to get me back to that part of the country in the middle of winter! :)

I wish I knew. I think it's because the passive-aggressive nature here is similar to British folk? :jest:

There's Brit's Pub owned by a Scouser, Merlin's Rest owned by an Englishman, Irishman and a Welshman, The Local which is a nice Irish pub where I watch all my Arsenal matches, too!

I love chick fil-a. I remember when Shannon was with her sisters for a couple months, their Chick-Fil A was closing for 3 weeks for renovations. They bought 4 jugs of the lemonade. <_< Can't complain, it's so good. Mcdonald's or Burger King doesn't have nothing on them.

EW EW EW EW McDonald's and Burger King.... YUCK YUCK I can't even tell you the last time I ate at either of them. Chick Fil A is closed on Sundays..... I hate that !!

If you put an incorrect amount, expect a checklist.

Such a small mistake.. Have to wait 1.5 month extra.. :crying: ..

They should just call us and correct it. once we fax them correct paperwork. So there would be no more 1.5 month extra.

I just called NVC, i was told the DS261 is a computer problem so its taking that long and the engineers are working on it , supervisor cant do anything with it !

mine was received June 12.. 32 days !

Yes, That is what it looks like and I was also told so. I resbmitted the incomlete DS261 on 6/11 and I called yesterday and was told it will be given to supervisor to review it. Today, I called again this morning and was told it will be updated today on the site. But so far I have not seen any update. I am on the call right now as we speak.

The only nice season in Madison is the indian summer... so about 2 weeks out of the year! :)

That said, it would probably be a decent place to buy a house and raise kids.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

I'm not really sure why but this has reminded me of the Arrested Development episode "For British Eyes Only" where they visit this place called "Wee Britain." I need to go and watch that again.

Hey Guys, I wrote Adjusted income for 2012 in my AOS instead of Gross Income, but 2013 is correct. So will this be a issue? Does anyone got any checklist for this?

If you know your mistake, I suggest you re-submit a new AOS asap. I just wish I had done it in my case rather than wait for the checklist.

Else what will happen is you will have to wait an additional 2 months (30 business days= 45 calendar days+ time required for it to reach NVC + additional time required for it to get scanned).

05-18 Got Married in Mumbai, India

07-11 Mailed i-130 petition

Called NVC, agent Carl informed me that my AOS Checklist was generated on July 27th. Hoping it's a false checklist. Haven't recieved the email yet, anyone know roughly how long it takes? (and please don't tell me 30 business day LOL)

didn't he tell you what the checklist was for???? they can see that !!

that's why I never even included the dollar amounts for the prior years. I just put the 2013 amount. and yes, as soon as I realized my lawyer made a big mistake, I sent the new one immediately. I didn't wait for a checklist and I am so glad I did !!!

Hello!

Im going to submit my AOS package tomorrow! (Yes i need to update my timeline, I paid the AOS fee this afternoon, I will do it soon)

If providing all three years of transcripts do I mark part 6 Q 13 and Q14 or only 14 and leave 13 unchecked??

13:i have filed a federal tax return for each of the three most recent tax years. I have attached the required photocopy or transcript of my tax return for only the most recent tax year.

14:(optional) i have attached transcripts of my tax returns for my second and third most recent tax years.

What is the benefit of giving all 3 years?

I only meet the poverty guideline in 2011 as i am abroad my current income is 0.00. I will prove sponsorship with assets. Any advice?

It is currently taking approximately 30 business days to review docs, so you probably have at least a week before they review your AOS docs and around 5 weeks before they review your IV docs.

You won't hear anything from NVC until you either get a checkllist (real or fake) or a case complete. Fingers crossed it goes quickly for you!

Any advice?

I checked off both (we submitted all three years).

Although it's not required at NVC, the embassy/consulate may want to see all three years, so it's better to just send it now beforehand.

If you're going to be qualifying on assets, don't forget, it has to be 3 times the poverty line as assets are only worth 1/3. And be warned, you'll likely get a checklist from NVC saying something in the regards of you not qualifying as a sponsor and the embassy/consulate will ultimately decide if you qualify. You don't need to send anything to NVC in response to the checklist, it's more just a warning from them.
