Update:

Checked the ceac website for God knows how many times and my IV bill changed back to PAID. I guess NVC have resolved the problem on their portal. Shaujhe check yours to see if NVC have resolved the issue. This process is already a stressful and long process and I hope NVC does not give us a heartbreak and not let this issue repeat itself again.

I just called NVC to check on my AOS, which was scanned in on June 11th-- the business day calculator says 32 days. I spoke to a Spanish-language operator named Andres, and he said right of the bat that normally documents are reviewed in 30 business days, and that time has elapsed, which means that I will be getting notification of a decision by e-mail some time this week. So I tried to clarify, saying that I had understood that sometimes there wouldn't be a notification if the AOS was approved. He seemed to be agreeing with that, but still saying that I would get an e-mail. Does that mean they are planning to send me a checklist when they haven't even reviewed it yet? Just a joke, I know this process makes one feel paranoid... but still, it's hard to know how to proceed... I want to be ready to respond to a checklist as quickly as possible if necessary, but am hoping it won't be necessary... do others call for this sort of thing?

So I tried to clarify, saying that I had understood that sometimes there wouldn't be a notification if the AOS was approved. Just a joke, I know this process makes one feel paranoid... but still, it's hard to know how to proceed... I want to be ready to respond to a checklist as quickly as possible if necessary, but am hoping it won't be necessary... do others call for this sort of thing?

I think most people get either a false checklist or a real checklist once their AOS is reviewed. If you get an email that says "Checklist" in the subject line, just take a deep breath, open it and read carefully. As long as they are not asking for something specific, it should be a false checklist. In my case I got a real checklist the day after my AOS was reviewed. I also received a false checklist the day after my IV docs were reviewed (meaning they were approved).

So, in my experience you won't have to wait too long after they review to hear if you have a real checklist so you can respond quickly. (I actually rang every day the week mine was reviewed and then received it the next morning, so I didn't save myself any time by calling NVC about it and just drove myself crazy sitting on hold every day) If I were you, I would just try to sit back and relax and wait for an email. Having said that, who knows what NVC is doing 99% of the time so we can never be sure how long it takes for them to send the email, so if you are happy to call and put up with the waiting and the snarky operators, by all means go for it!

I am not too sure how many people get their AOS reviewed/approved without either a false or real checklist (in that case no news would mean good news) Perhaps someone who has had that happen can comment?

I used to call early morning, lunch time and 10 pm... I didn't trust anyone at the NVC

Was so surprised yesterday my IV bill went from PAID to IN PROCESS and have already submitted my DS-260. Spoke with NVC rep in the morning and she said it will be resolved but I didn't trust her statement because she sounded like she doesn't know what she's doing or saying. Decided to call NVC again but have been trying the line for over 100 times without getting thru, was surprised now after I checked ceac website and discovered it has been resolved and changed back to PAID. But I'll still call them tomorrow morning to ask about my AOS status. Its 30business days already, I guess I'll follow your advise and just babysit them.

I am one of those few unfortunate people who got stuck in both the backlogs. It's been almost 14 months now since we filed our 130. Seems like forever.

That really sucks! :dead: Since you waited longer at the USCIS stage, I was happy that you got your IV fee invoice fast!

However, I still felt, "WHAT!? She entered the NVC stage after me! I'm still waiting! That's not fair! Well, those lucky people!"

Guys I have been actually wondering something since a few days. Does the fact that this batch of Nvc thread doesn't call them as much can play a factor as to our slowed processing times? I remember reading May and June thread and I remember people on that including Lovemytico, estrangais and a lot of them calling everyday and even twice a day. We have gotten so tired and frustrated by their standard 30 day business day reply that we stopped calling but I remember that they used to be quoted the same stupid reply. So what do u think? Should we start clogging their phone lines?:P
