My wife finally got her international passport back this past Thursday after it was renewed by the Russian government. She was told it would take 4 weeks, but it ended up being 5-1/2 weeks, though apparently it was approved back on June 24 as that's the effective date. I wish I knew whose desk it sat on for 16 days...

After getting the new passports, I e-mailed the Moscow embassy and asked they could move up her July 21 interview. I received an e-mail reply indicating that July 18 is the only open date/time, so I wrote back on Friday to say we would take it, and I asked if a new interview letter would be issued. We haven't received a reply, so I was wondering if anyone here has changed their interview date, and if they received a new letter with the revised date & time. I assume she'll need that to enter the embassy this Friday.

Also, I've been trying to register my stepson on ustraveldocs.com by creating a profile for him, but it keeps giving me an error message "Your request cannot be processed at this time. The site administrator has been alerted." Has anyone else experienced this? I wrote to the embassy to let them know and seek guidance.

Good news - 3 days is 3 days

I got the same error message when I used an email address that I'd already registered before and forgot about, so it gave an error when I tried to use it. I got it working twice - used another email address, and recovered my password with the email that was giving the error. Try either of those.

And once you're able to login, let me know if your interview date that was assigned by NVC is automatically pre-populated.

I haven't completed the profile/delivery address yet, but it shows currently "No appointment is currently scheduled." I'm not sure if/how they add your interview date to your ustraveldocs page, or if it will always show "No appointment is currently scheduled." for those of us who were scheduled by NVC.

Anyone else see on ustraveldocs that your NVC interview date is shown in the bottom middle box instead of "No appointment is currently scheduled."?

Hey guys - Kind of a dumb question, but I'm very curious. If the consulate is giving you a sealed envelope that can't be opened until the POE, what proof do you show that you have a valid visa before traveling? I know some connecting countries check to make sure that you have a valid passport and visa before you can even board the plane to the US. For me personally, when I make the trip to Vietnam and I'm connecting in Hong Kong or Tokyo, the flight attendants in Hong Kong or Tokyo will check that I have a valid visa to enter Vietnam.

You have to look up the contact information for your embassy where you will have the interview and email them. I emailed the New Delhi embassy so that's going to be no use to you lol

I'm surprised at you being a VJ senior member! You don't want them to demote you now.

Sealed envelope will hold all your supporting documents. Visa will be stamped on your passport for all to see and acknowledge.

I've heard of cases where the passport was included in the brown envelope. In such cases the packet should be brought back to the consulate unopened.

I've also seen cases where both envelope and passport were contained in a shrink-wrap seal. In such cases, you can cut the plastic seal to get out the passport, but keep the brown envelope intact.

Did you send a request for pre-poning the interview? My case shows in transit but I am sill not able to track it on DHL...I want to request an earlier interview as well...should I wait till they receive the package? And sorry I ask you so many questions...I m not able to follow the forum like before because I m a little busy, so whenever I log in n I see an update, I want to clarify Hope you don't mind

I have a question of curiosity. So in the subject line of our interview letter e-mail, it states "(STD P4 APP (24JUN2013))" after our case number. Is June 24, 2013 relevant to anything, such as a case complete date?

quick question... what date does your interview letter have on it? Ours says 11 July 2014, but the CEAC status still says "At NVC"

I guess ours is just taking a little longer to ship out? We really want to write the Embassy to ask for an earlier interview date, but can't do it until they receive the file!

Mine still says at NVC and we got Case Complete a week ago ... desperate for it to change because I need to change my interview date (later).

We emailed the embassy and they said they can't change the date until they get the case from NVC. I called my friends at NVC and they told me they're still sitting on my case because they're a bunch of lazy morons and they just can't give me a freaking break.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to actually mail the case?

Hope not too long, but ours is still sitting there according to the CEAC website and that's a week since CC.

Hello Everyone,

My wife has her visa interview at the London embassy, Aug 12, and we are curious about the biometrics situation. I was told by the NVC that biometrics happen after the interview? Does it happen before they take the passport for processing? Or after it is returned?

I'm unclear on how that is supposed to work.

I received interview date email yesterday, subject line says: (STD P4 APP (24JUN2013))(CC)

The interview date is accurate, everything seems to be fine.

My wife already did the medical exams when we almost proceeded with the fiancee visa I-129F but we decided to wait for the I-130

I'm hoping we can reschedule for early interview date since medical exams are already done but NVC is saying they still didn't ship the documents to the embassy yet.

Any suggestions ???
