Joint Sponsor needed?

For 2013 I was working but for 2011and 2012 I was a student so my income was fairly low except 2013, should I ask my dad to be my joint sponser just to be safe? Also I'm going back to school this coming fall.

2012 :$9000

2011: $9600

Really it depends on the embassy. I highly doubt you're going through Armenia like on your timeline.

You will need a Joint Sponsor.

For 2011, your income is over the threshold for a single person and a tax return is required for that year. You were not excused from filing in 2011.

For 2012, you are exempt from filing if you were single and could not be claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return. If you were single and a dependent, then you needed to file a tax return. If you were married in 2012, then you needed to file a tax return.

However, the I-864 requires continuing income. If you quit your job before your husband's interview, then you need to update the I-864 to reflect quitting your job.

Not necessarily. Some embassies only need current income to be above the guidelines. Some need the last 3 years. It's quite variable and really depends on where the interview takes place.

If this year as well he or she is currently making above the threshold then he/she doesn't need a joint sponsor.

However, if the AOS is filed after they go back to school then yes they need a joint sponsor.

Well my embassy is kingston n for nvc they only require 2013 income cuz on the aos it ask for most recent n all she ave to do it send in her 1040 r transcript with w2 bt everybody different then idk

You will need to either state that you filed tax returns for the last three years or why you were excused from filing.

Even though you may not need to send in the tax returns for 2011 and 2012, you still have to state on the I-864 that you filed or why you were excused from filing for those years.
