I-129F / Not Applicable- NA, NONE or Blank?

After much research on the forums here, it seemed understood that it was appropriate to fill in ALL fields in the I129F with either "NA" or "NONE".

After reading the I129F instructions on my I129F form, it clearly states " Answer all questions fully and accurately. If an item is not applicable or the answer is "none," leave the space blank".

This is conflicting information. I have all about ready to send out my packect including putting NA and None in all the vacant fields on the form. Do I need to start over?

If you do searches for information, you may come up with older posts stating to not leave anything blank. That is how it was done then. However, with new form editions come new form instructions too. When the new edition of the I-129F(and other USCIS forms as well) came out a year ago, the new instructions stated just what you quoted. Follow the form instructions. If the answer is N/A or None, leave it blank. Example form > http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-I-129F.pdf

Since you already completed the form, I doubt you need to redo it though. I do not think you would get an RFE for using N/A and None, even though the instructions state not to.

I came across the same issue in regards to not leaving anything blank and initially did not, however, didn't want to take a chance in getting an RFE for something as simple as that so I corrected the PDF file and reprinted it again per its latest instructions. In my book it was well worth doing because you never know and you're at their mercy. Good luck and keep posting :dancing:

None, N/A are fine. Blank is not fine. No blanks.

Then please explain why the form instructions state to leave them blank.

The form we used (expires 06/30/2016, so, the current revision) says in its Instructions document:

"How To Fill Out Form I-129F

....

3. Answer all questions fully and accurately. If an item is not applicable, or the answer is "none", leave the space blank."

so, at least in the current form, we should not use N/A etc, just leave it blank.

Always grab the most recent revision of forms and their instructions!!

Always better to go with the instructions.

However we filled the same form in June with N/A and none written in few places and it didn't cause any trouble so if you have sent in your package don't fret over it.
