I'm going to apply for a K1 visa for my Filipino fiancé who works in Hong Kong. Do I need to send in along with the petition a copy of her birth certificate and the death certificate of her late husband?

Thank you,

Michael

Yes. Copies are fine but be prepared to present originals from NSO at her interview.

Birth certificate is her ID and proof of existence and age.

Her ex's death certificate is proof her marriage is over.

Hi there! Welcome to VJ! Follow the guide linked by A&B above.

For the I-129f peitition filing:

NO to your fiancee's birth certificate (this will be required later on during the embassy interview)

YES to the death certificate of her late husband. (It's highly advised to submit a certified copy from NSO to avoid RFE)

From your fiancee, you will also need a signed G-325a, Letter of intent to marry and her passport pictures. The guide details the rest of the required documents.

Do check out uscis.gov as well for updated forms and instructions. All the best!
