You are correct, we received our NOA 2 June 16 2014 and received an update that our petition was shipped to the DOS on June 19 2014 that is usually what happens from reading all the post on VJ and it also to us.

Good luck on the rest of the journey. As for us we are waiting for our Manila case number.

I wouldn't worry, I have read it can take several weeks for the NVC to receive your petition and assign a you a case number. It's still early, it will be fine. As far your status changing, it will happen. (:

Well, weve called all the places and I've sent out emails to them also. Fiance called the uscis today and told the person he wanted to speak to the immigration officer and got transfered to one. She told him that our case has been sent to Poland and didnt go through nvc at all.

They ALL go through NVC, All.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

The wording on the approval notices is confusing. They are sent to the consulate, but they go through the NVC on the way there. ALL of them go through the NVC. They do not stay at the NVC very long. They are assigned a case# and sent off to the appropriate consulate from there.

Your petition seems to be lost in some void. The NVC cannot help you because they have not received it yet. The USC petitioner needs to talk to the USCIS about where your case is. Insist on speaking to a tier 2 immigration officer that has access to your case information. They will get no real help or accurate answers from the person that answers the phone. They are not immigration officers and have no access to any of your actual case info. Let them know your case was approved at the CA service center and that your case has been missing for 9 weeks now, and that it never made it to the NVC or the consulate.

The above is the best and most comprehensive of several good answers in this thread.

One ill-tempered post has been removed from the thread.

Thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to the K-1 Case Progress subforum -- the question is about case status.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Why was my post removed, what was so wrong about what i said? I said "cant u start ur own thread?" because it came to the point that they would write their situations (that are diff than mine) in here and it was messy and nobody was even paying attention to my posts anymore. one time i did that in somebody else's thread and the OP got at me saying i should make my own and several people stood up by them....

  • 3 weeks later...

I have exactly the same situation now with our approval notice,we got NOA2 June 30 and it still says "we mailed this petition" instead "shipped". Now I started worried cause afraid to be stuck in USCIS. I'm very confused niw. Guys tell me please, did your online status was changed to shipped or still says the same even when you got you case #?!

We got the email/text of our NOA2 on July 1 and our status still says "we mailed this petition". I hope it shows "shipped" soon.

Just got an email from USCIS they shipped our petition last night July 8th. That's bad to know that we need to wait at least 1 week to call them. I was hopping they already got it((

But the good thing is that they sent it and don't keep over there!

Hope to get our number soon!
