It's a record number for aliens. Every immigrant has one, as do people removed from the US.

Timeline

Looking at your timeline I'm assuming that your alien registration number changed. It doesn't mean anything when that happens. Ditto what the poster below stated. There is no way for you to look up this number at this stage in the process.

As Hypnos stated, all immigrants are assigned an A#. The A# will appear near the beneficiary's name on the NOA2 approval notice for the I-129F. You will need to know that number later when you file for AOS.

What Are A-Files?

Alien Files, or "A-Files," are individual files identified by subject's Alien Registration Number ("A-number"). An A-number is a unique personal identifier assigned to a non-citizen. A-Files became the official file for all immigration and naturalization records created or consolidated since April 1, 1944.

What exactly does that number mean ? I am assuming it is a good sign that the process has started . How do you look up this number ?

It means your fiancée has A# that will identified her when she finally comes to the US. A# will appears on NOA-2 hard copy that petitioner will received via mail. It written above the name of beneficiary.
