Which tracking number should I use for change of address on I-751?

My receipt number on NOA1 and Fingerprint notice are different.

Anyone has experience with this?

The one on your biometrics notice. Read your NOA1, it's explained that the case number in the bio letter is the one to use to track updates on your case.

K-1 Visa Timeline AOS Timeline

- Aug 31st, 2011 - Mailed I-129F package - May 29th, 2012 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP package

- Apr 13th, 2012 - Visa received - Aug 24th, 2012 - Green Card received

ROC Timeline

- May 19th, 2014 - Mailed ROC package to CSC

- Aug 8th, 2014 - Green Card received

N-400 Timeline

- Dec 29th, 2021 - Filed online. Got notice that biometrics will be reused.

- Now waiting...

You are right. And still, when I was changing my address during ROC, the system would not take the number from the biometrics notice, so I ended up using the one from the NOA1.

On the other hand, the case status only came up if I used the number from the biometrics notice.

Go figure.

Yep, I changed our address just few days ago too and it was a bit confusing which number to use. So use "Receipt number" when changing address (from I-797 NOA), and "Application number" when tracking your case (Form I-797C NOA).

I called USCIS to verify I put the right number, and the customer rep. told me to do the address change again because I used the wrong number.. Well, then tried doing that and of course the other number wasn't accepted ..and I realized I did it right the first time around after all and the USCIS customer rep. was wrong in his advice :rolleyes: Oh well, go figure :lol:

Interview first assigned for 1/4/2012, but then rescheduled to 2/22/2012 as my hubby and I went on vacation.

2/28/12 My visa pick up from the embassy.

1/10/14 Roc package sent

1/13/14 NOA1 date

1/15/14 check cashed by CSC

2/07/14 Biometrics appointment

6/17/14 Card production ordered (ROC approved)

For change of address:

It wouldn't accept receipt number on bio-metrics/fingerprint notice.

I used receipt number on NOA1 (1-year extension), and it went through fine.

Should I keep trying to do address change with biometrics receipts? Call them?

Please post your experiences.
