So the Consulate closed tomorrow AND Friday? I'm glad you brought that up because I didn't realize that. That stinks :(

Yes! I learned this when i was dealing with the HFX consulate, because they are US but based in Canada, they observe national holidays of both countries.

!!! As of today my status changed to ISSUED !!

(weird under the blurb for issue it still says the AP jargon but I assuming that means they are printing it and all that stuff). So uh, how does Loomis get in touch with my husband now? It says

Passport Delivery Information

If your visa is approved, the Consular Section will send your passport to the Loomis branch you selected at the time of booking your appointment (shown above). Log in to your account to retrieve your waybill number."

But I am logged in. Anyone know? ( I should go ask in the Canada forum I guess!)

YAY! Congrats! I am sooo anxious now LOL. I believe they will give you a waybill #. I think it is somehow linked to the account you created. You can also call the Loomis branch in a couple days to see if its there. I think they call you when they have it also.

They received our paperwork June 23rd then they were closed the 24th and our status updated the 26th....and they are closed the 1st and the 4th this week. Ugh....I had horrible timing with holidays! I am hoping for another update soon...(tomorrow preferably) haha

Hello!

Just a quick message of congrats to the newly issued and words of encouragement for a ready status to come!

After my issued status last Thursday, I got my waybill number Friday at 9pm to my email. My passport was delivered Monday morning to the loomis branch in waterloo. Everything was good with the passport/visa so I flew out on Thurday from Toronto. I got to the airport 3 hours early and got to my gate with 30 mins to spare. I wish I had given myself 4 hours just so I didn't feel stressed at all. It wasn't really customs that took all the time. They were good and I was through in under 90 mins. no questions but 'when's the wedding date' (to be sure it's within 90 days). I would just suggest a little longer at Pearson if you're flying air Canada direct to the states cause check in is often long (and I hate feeling nervous about making a flight!)

My fiance will be flying from Pearson too so I am glad you posted this. We figured 3 hours to be a reasonable amount of time, but I will tell him he might want to make it 4 hours! He doesn't like to be rushed either. I don't know which airline yet, because we obviously can't book the flight yet.

Congrats on your arrival to the U.S!! I am just impatiently waiting for it to be our turn.

Question: Do you guys think I should send the Consulate an email? Do you think it would make a difference? I know both of you did and your statuses changed to Ready just a few days later. My fiance says to just wait, but I will do it if you think it helped! We really want him to come around July 28th which will approach pretty fast. Its only been 2 weeks, but I am getting nervous!

I don't think the email made a difference, but you can never be sure how they work.

Thanks for the waybill info, my visa changed to issued (you should receive in 5 business days thursday). Still no waybill yet, so I guess I'll get it today.
