ok just looking at possible options.1n my situation a k/3 visa is definately the best option because her daughter will qualify as a derivitative with the k3.but not for an 1-130 cr1/i-r1,because she was 18 shortly after our marriage.my intentions are to definately to pursue the k/3 but if the k/3 were to be denied for a reason that i just cant foresee at the moment, would that automatically stop any chance with the 1-130.yes we are both totally clean with requirements but we all know the uncertaintanties of the process at any level.just looking at options if there are any to be had.thanks for anyway input here.

A LITTLE TIDBIT OF INFO HERE.my wife lives in bogota and went and hung out a little at the exit where interviewees come out.talked with 3 couples and was told that the interview was pretty generic and respectful and all 3 couples recieved the k/3 visa.there was a total of 6 k/3 interviews but she did not know the results of the other 3.it does seem that the fiances being at the interview was some what helpful.of course that suggests that probably all the couples pretty much had their papers in order.also said the interview was just like a regular meeting without intimidation.looking at all evidence and then some questions.also i think all the answers better be truthfull or they will probably pick up on it.she is going back another day to find out more info .just looking for actual experiences and trying to be as mentally and physically prepared as possible.if i learn more i will pass it on.im thinking that if you are prepared and honest the success rate will be pretty high.

why do you think your k-3 will be denied. you never mention why..

also, you realize depending on what gets to the embassy your wife will come here on

so if the Cr1 get there.. she will get that. k-3 basicly is NOT to get her here faster.

its for her to come and WAIT in the USA for her i-130 approval. if you have it already.

dont be surprised if your k-3 gets cancelled.

if your k-3 gets denied. you will need to know the reasons why and respond.

if you dont then the Cr1 could also see the same fate.

im just concerned about denial only because she had 2 denials for a tourist visa.and as i said before im just trying to get as educated as i can about everything thats involved.in my heart i know we should not have problems but i also know the embassy officers are not in my heart.they seem to find some dirt if they want to,even to manufacture it,no matter how clean people are.

married2006,

The woman is going to need an approved I-130 anyway. Applying for a K4 visa is not going to avoid that.

yeah yodrak,i know she will need an 1-130 approved to adjust status if she comes as an K/4.but if my wife comes as c/r1 the 18 yr.old daughter has to c/i too.but will the daughter have to wait for a number to be available or can she come as a immigrant because we were married before the daughter was 18.hope im not confusing you too much but it does get somewhat complicated

I interviewed with my wife in Bogota on 9 Feb 2004...no problems. A denial for the K-3 would also be reason for a denial on an I-130...no?
