I just wanted to thank everyone on this post, I was waiting for more than a month and in one day because of the help here I got an interview for my fiance. I used auto refresh plus on google chrome.

Aren't you glad you got sick of waiting  One day and you nailed an appointment, a record for these lean K-1 times.

Most of the credit for the success rate of this thread are due to the outstanding work and patience of Greenbaum and Hank, thanks guys ! B-) My fiancé, at this moment is boarding a flight to Manila for her interview.

in my opinion it is ludicris the way the system is being run currently. I'm a computer programmer and it was even tough for me using c4c.. imagine everyone who's not that computer savvy? Or can't stay up all night? it just infuriates me when I see the news with all the illegals pouring into this country. I feel bad for the victims of the typhoon, but how are they all-of-a-sudden getting immigrant visa's to the USA ? The living conditions of most of the victims were not that good to begin with.. K1's should have some priority here - the victims never had any intentions or capability of coming to the USA, now all of a sudden they are getting the golden ticket by the thousands? bizarre. Philippines.

C4C does what it is intended to do and that is monitor the page for changes and alert you when that happens. That's all it was intended to do. For some it did its job. Of course I realized where your beef is in the entire process which I couldn't agree more with you.

Having said that are you not glad that you only need to experience this cluster blah blah blah once? So relax and think about the next step and all the land mines that you´ll encounter there. :)

Fonz, As for the illegal immigrant, Obama induced disaster, I concur with your view 100%. I did write my Senator about my feelings at the injustice of those of us that are following the law, as it was written, I encourage those of you that feel the injustice of this to do the same.

As for the Yolanda victims seeking visa priority; personally, I have no problems. I was in Cagayan de Oro in October when the 7.4 earthquake hit, two years before in my fiancés home town, a typhoon hit, 2000 dead, and many more were never accounted for. I understand your anger and frustration, but it will sort it self out. Stay positive. :)

sure C4C works if your computer savvy enough to find it and install it and be at a reliable connection... And willing to stay up all night like a zombie..

Yes, I'm super happy we got a date, but it shouldn't have to be like this... anyway just ranting - oh boy, now your making me nervous - well that's life, we followed all directions and hope to avoid any landmines.. Fedex'd my original signed Affidavit of Support and bank letter + tax return.. Pretty sure that's the #1 determining factor in the majority of decisions.. It's in God's hands now so they say.. thanks for the support !

hehe isn't the fonz cool, i'm more henry winkler these days haha... we all have our opinions, my best friends family had a business in Tacloban, was one of the only concrete buildings there and saved about 50 peope who swam to the 3rd floor - days after the typhoon their entire business was looted.

trying to stay positive... everything happens for a reason, so maybe it's karma.. Thanks for the kind words.

ALL of those in the system had intentions, and had petitions in the system. They still have to meet all the requirements... it is not a golden ticket.

The expedite is for all immigrant petitions that were in the system, plus those applying. Some immigrant visa petitions sit in the system for YEARS, but with the expedite all bet are off.

K-1 is a non-immigrant visa, treated in many ways like an immigrant visa

Your petition was approved in 83 days!! And you are complaining??! You got your petition approved so quickly because you are riding the EXPEDITE "wave", petition approval normally takes upwards of 5-6 months.

I don't think that's true at all, there are many others with k1 petitions that are even quicker - in the past few years they have become more efficient and unless there's problems with your initial package, approval can be as fast as 60 days ! there are threads about it. I'm only complaining about the scheduling process currently and the fact they take your money and then you have to be a computer programmer to get an appointment! (in a nail-biting allnighter situation)

Thanks for the info, now I kinda understand - so these "expedites" already had applications "stuck" in the system.. interesting. I wonder why they were "stuck" in the first place?

The expedite has been going on for almost a year.

Average processing times for the different service centers are: CSC = 5 months, TSC = 5 months, VSC = 5 months

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do

The reason many of the immigrant visa were "stuck" was because of their PRIORITY DATE, until it is their "moment in time" they have to sit and wait... the expedite tipped that boat over. Some of these people had been waiting for years... yes YEARS

Not exactly. The PRIORITY DATE was never moved/changed to accomodate any expedites. It was still the same. If someone's priority date wasn't current, there were not getting an interview and/or a visa. The only thing the expedite might have gotten anyone was a faster USCIS processing (VSC,CSC etc..), and maybe a faster NVC processing (case complete), then they get stuck because a visa number isn't available for them.

Not exactly?? Yet you go on to state that things "may" be faster at NVC, along with the ... very obvious... and point of this discussion... USEM.

The expedite is for ALL phases of the process... which you danced around then agreed... so not sure what "not exactly" you are referring to as those affected by Yolanda... their priority date doesn't change -as that is the RECEIVED date of the initial petition, but the expedite sort of ignores that and moves them to the head of the line... which is what I said before.

I was merely clarifying that those that are stuck (the same ones waiting for years) because of their priority date not being current are still stuck now. The expedite didn't help them secure a visa as nothing was really done to move the Visa bulletin any faster because of the typhoon. They didn't all of a sudden get a "golden ticket" like someone alluded to.

Ok... then just WHICH victims of Yolanda were expedited by your thinking? Only those that were already current anyway? Then why bother with an expedite?

I truly do not agree.
