They said they need more emails and phone cards. We printed about 4 emails a week since March......9 calling cards..... more than 10 letters and cards.....pictures ......proof of two trips.

they never saw the ring and receipt....

I guess I can send some yahoo chats even though they are private and embarassing.

What can I do to make sure I don't mess this up?

We had enough so would faxing more still not be enough?

Wait, your lawyer told you this? Or did USCIS send you a notice requesting more info? It sounds to me like you got an RFE, not that you were denied. Please elaborate.

Denied or not approved? Big difference.......

YMMV

I agree that we need more info. Were you given a 221g?

If you need to provide more proof of the relationship, you were not denied. Sounds like they just need more info before they will issue the visa. Tell us what proof of the relationship you included in both the I 129f and at the interview. Also, what questions did they ask you?

We need a bit more info before we can help.

Kind of confused here. I agree with everyone else...we need more info here. From what you said it doesn't sound like a denial. Also, you can black things out of your conversation. That way you won't blush too much. Get back to us with more details.

Sorry.

ok my fiancee just had her interview at the moscow embassy and received a 221g which is guess is not a denial? It's a request for more evidence. They asked for more emails and phone cards. My fiancee took a 50 page stack of emails and 9 calling cards already. She had pictures..... proof of the second trip(visa stamps, tickets, ) 10 or more cards and letters.

I don't think they saw the engagement ring and they didn't ask for the reciept.

The interviewer said she couldn't understand how we could decide to get married after a short time and gave Olga a hard time about her English. Her English is good! I think Olga choked on the inverview some. Does anyone know if sending more emails and phoof will really help? should I call my congressman instead?

How long do we have for the 221g? The embassy is closed or I could call and ask.

sounds just like a request for further evidence, Barry.
Looks like I destroyed my lawyer's 100% success rate.

Looks like your lawyer's 100% idiot.

Talk about bad luck! I can't get a hold of my lawyer. I've been trying to call him for hours and his line has been forwarded to a disconnected line! I've been talking to him a year and now his line is down!

No, they do a great job. I'm sure many people on this site use them. Everything was in order. I don't know what to do.

You might start by going to the 'waivers' forum on this website and reading about other folks experiences w/ 221g's, and perhaps see if anyone there has gone through your same consulate.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=113

I think that might determine how long you have to get things back to them, etc. Your fiancee must have been given a sheet of paper - what exactly does it say (besides to submit more evidence of the relationship)?

I have no idea about whether or not your consulate is open (why wouldn't it be?). Maybe ask on the Regional forum about that.

Wow all that evidence and they still want more? If you can't reach your lawyer, I'd contact a congressman while you persue other information. You now know you weren't denied but my gosh what do they want from you? Just because her english isn't 'that great' doesn't mean you can't understand her. My fiance speaks english somewhat but his accent is so heavy he's hard to understand by others. But because I talk to him all the time, I understand him fine. So that to me is irrelavant..it's whether the two of you can communicate that matters. good luck Barry.

You should send an email to the U.S. embassy in Moscow (visa consul officer) asking them what specifically they need. Be sure to include the case number, your fiancee's name, your name, etc. Be very specific so that they can identify the case.

Has your fiancee ever applied for K-1 visa before? Maybe she had a problem before that she didn't mention to you. Sorry to ask, but just looking for a reason why they would deny the visa.

Barry, sorry to hear this news but I believe it's just a blip - it's not a denial - just a request for more evidene.

There have been several 221gs issued lately in Moscow - they seem to be questioning ability to speak English as well as relationships. I wouldn't worry about your lawyer now - just provide as much evidence as you can (black out anything embarassing) to the embassy as fast as you can. They asked for more emails and phone cards - provide that to them. If you can't get straight answers, contact American Citizens services at the embassy so you have an idea of next steps and how long this might take.

Good luck.
