i had to get one from Japan. I had to go in person to the Japanese consulate/embassy to apply and also to pick it up. It took 3 months.

This is easy fix. Packet 3 will be your letter for instruction. Highlight that and attach with your police certificate application.

I applied for Singapore COC with my packet 3

My wife needed her clearance from Brunei as well. It took a long time. One of the requirements was to get a request letter for the clearance from the US embassy. They would not give her a request letter until her K1 case was in Manila. As soon as her case arrived, she got the request for clearance from the US embassy and took it to the Brunei embassy. They then accepted the request and filed the paper work. They would not do it any sooner

It took so long, that she did not receive the clearance in time for the interview. She showed them that she applied and was still waiting. They accepted that and she passed her interview without it. That same day, when she went home, her clearance was in the mail, but she never did need it.

Sorry your fiancé went to the interview without knowing about the clearance. Now that you didn't apply for it, they want it. I hope it doesn't take too long. If you don't know exactly what needs to be done to get the clearance, I'm sure I still have copies of the requirements that the Brunei embassy gave my fiancé. I could give you a copy. Just let me know.

Well, my fiancee is planning to go to the Brunei Embassy tomorrow with the Interview letter from the USA Embassy, I hope and pray they will accept it. Also, we already sent an email to the USA Embassy requesting that letter, and we will send a letter via 2GO, the official courier of the USA Embassy requesting that letter. Reading from you and other that this takes long, is not really good news

The part that sucks most is she stay there just a little over 6 months, if its less than 6 months USA Embassy dont requiere the police report.

I'm waiting for the police certificate of Brunei too. I requested on March 9,2015. I had interview on June 22,2015 and now waiting the same as you. I did call to Brunei this morning, the officer said that I have request again or bring the receipt to request in Brunei there will take two weeks if requested again in Thailand have to wait a long time. I did check at the Brunei embassy in BKK. The offer only say can't check, don't know when it comes the same word like before I went. I just gave my finance website there wait for 7-10 day to get criminal record of Brunei 115usd. My finance will call today or tomorrow. www.infocubic.net I see this website on google. You can try if you want to. My Thai police certificate and medical will be expired if wait from the embassy. If it doesn't work the best way is going to request in Brunei. I and my finance talked last night but I found out this website just now yeahhhhh I hopefully can get it in 7days!!!!!
