Yes. Print two copies of the letter from NVC for SLEC for the medical. CFO can be scheduled without a visa so no issue there. Did you wife change her passport to her married name?

yes she has to do CFO to get the passport changed..... I was just curious because if she had done CFO for the name change on the passport there would be no need to attend again.

so all she has to do is show the letter from Nvc when she goes the DFA office to change her passport into her married name

NO. CFO is a Philippines requirement... you follow the requirements at DFA for the passport renewal. NVC is a U.S. agency has nothing to do with CFO... don't confuse the two processes.

She needs to attend CFO to change her passport.

Normally medical is not allowed until you have interview appointment, but St Luke's is now allowing medical without the interview since dates are hard to get and can sneak up on you.

Do the medical as soon as you can since it takes a few days for the med results to get to embassy. It would be a shame if you lucked into a nice short interview date and had to pass on it beause no medical yet. Get the med as soon as you can so you will be prepared when an interview date pops up.

Keep in mind that the visa expires after 6 months and the time begins with the completion of the medical and NOT the visa issuing date. So plan accordingly.

Teddy K, in addition to Hank's advice and special emphasis to Greenbaum's post, I personally don't think that it will be a good idea to have the medical soon. NVC stage may still take some time, so it might be cutting close for the embassy interview date and actual issuance of visa.

Just my 2 cents.

Do the medical when you're near case completion. Your case can stay with NVC for months depending on how fast you submit the documents and the accuracy of those docs.

It will take NVC 20-30 business days to review each package (AOS and IV) that you sent. Plus the misfortune of getting a checklist.

I agree with the Apple21. Consider waiting to get the medical.

You don't have a "Case Complete' confirmation and there can still be delays. Unless you've submitted AOS and IV documents, it's a bit early, one checklist would cause an unfortunate delay and a second checklist could really delay your case.
