Shortest time to receive Visa after Passing Interview

 Share

Family-based visas are more straightforward and tend to have faster turn-around time. For K-1s, it vastly varies. Last year, before the Haiyan expedite cases come into play, there was already a significant difference in everybody's timelines. At that time, the reason people get is "further background checks need to be made". It's still true until now, so I won't say delay is caused by the expedite cases alone.

I was approved in 2 weeks, but got my passport with visa on hand in almost 3 weeks. Apparently, there is no average. So, as has been strongly advised here in VJ, don't buy or book anything until you have your visa on hand. All the best to your interview!

We did that mistake in booking airline tickets as soon as I was approved. Fortunately I got my visa right away. Whew! Just waiting for July until I fly out of here. I'm starting to s l o w l yyyyyyyy pack my stuff :)

This is a useful thread becauase it corrals all the data into one place. Yes i know everyone's case is different, but it still gives some reaonsable idea.

Thank you to the OP for this smart idea.

Not a new idea and for sure not definitive and will not give anyone a "reasonable idea" as each case is different. There is tons of "data" here on the PI forum, in fact with a quick search of "when issued?" it shows there is : About 58,800 results (0.19 seconds)

Thanks AI422 for understanding and support.

I have my own reason for asking, just like how everybody asks theirs. I believe I can ask or say anything here as long as it's not breaking any rules. Any forum sites have multiple posts regarding a similar topic (try searching Yahoo! Answers). And if you cannot answer my question, you do not have to post in this thread, plain and simple.

Thanks to those who answer my question, by the way! I appreciate them!

Thank you! We got no choice but to be patient, do we?

Just good to know that some got their visas so quick - which inspires me in a way since it happened to them, there is a possibilty for it to happen to us as well. It's just a way how I look at things. And I promise, if it won't happen to me, I won't make a thread calling everybody a liar! :bonk:

I agree with you so much. Those who think a thread is dumb or inappropriate or don't like it for whatever reason should simply refrain from posting in it and leave those of us who find it useful to use it in peace.

What good is this information. Everyone is different and no two visa processes are the same. This would be referred to as "flawed data" if you were taking a statistical class.

So tell me, why is it so good if in the end the information is not useful to the OP?

Maybe it is nothing but FEELGOOD information. So what? Should others be denied it just because you don't like it?

Most people are not actually getting hurt by having to wait so long for their visas. I thought I was at a point because of the impending cancer surgery, that is until my doctor told me I can wait until July to have it. But that is not the worst part. The worst part is the anxiety caused by havnig the most important event of your life waiting for some invisible goal line and waiting for that goal line in the dark, wondering if some invisible problem is keeping you from that goal line.

But once you hear from 3, 4, 5, 6 other people interviewed around the same time who got to date exactly what you got (ZERO), your anxiety level drops by an appreciable amount. Now you know that yours is following a "normal" wait period, and the ghosts of that invisible problem become less promiment.

I am very happy for you that you seem to have a heart of steel that is not affected by such feelings. But most of us have normal flesh hearts that are very much affected by them. But you would take all this away from us and replace it with the worn out phrase of "patience, patience, patience". Please stop. I know you think you are helping us, but you are not.

Nope. Just lucky.

I equate these "when ?" topics to the guy crawling across the desert hoping to find water then sees a mirage, he suddenly feels better .. butt.... 1941.gif

As I noted earlier there are over 58,000 posts on "when their visa was issued" that I found in a very quick search, and not a one of them are anymore then what the a mirage is.... a glimmering false hope.

AI&RL are a good current example of how "knowing" someone else's issued time is of no value. Use them as the yard stick and everyone will be waiting over a month.

I understand their anxiety, many of they didn't even have to deal with 5-6 months of patience just to get their petitioned approved they were approved in under 90 days, heck they didn't even have time to learn any good drinking songs! 1942.gif

But then some people do believe that a mirage is real..... 1958.gif

... got run I think I spotted a palm tree...
