So hubby's interview went ok but we are now in AP. He had everything the NVC requested but apparently there is some other document having to do with marital status that he needed from some government agency there. This is frustrating to me because I went on NVC website under country specific and the only thing that was listed there was about the police clearance.

So he was able to go get this document this afternoon. But he is only allowed to take it back to the embassy tomorrow between 4 and 4:30. Really? A half hour window? And on a Friday no less!! Ugh!!! I'm pretty disgusted right now.

After 14 months of waiting and jumping thru hoops now this!!!!! I can't wait til this bs is over!

And I was thinking we would be so happy and relieved today. And here we are still stressed out!

What more could they want from us? They had our ORIGINAL marriage cert!!!!!!!!!!

The lady at the embassy told him it may still be possible to get the visa next week but they don't do anything quickly there so I'm not holding my breath!

Sorry for the rant. I'm just pi$$ed off! :(

Stacey its going to be fine today or in a few days, be sure and smile:)

This document is kinda new in the list, im sure it was not in the list before April this year, they didnt want it before the last update of this list http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/pk%203%20supplements/SOF%20-%20Sofia.pdf.%C2'>

This is ridiculous!! You have been waiting forever. And why so many darn days off? Don't they just get American holidays off? Or do they get the French ones too? Because if that is the case, then I clearly need to work there.

I'm going to track your status and see if you here anything from them. Have you considered calling the embassy themselves?

Haha! They actually get both. I saw that the other day on their website! They have a total of 18 holidays a year... :wow: (see attached image!) We should all work there!

SO! In other news, I have been following your advice and I sent an email to the embassy this morning. Are you seated? Because you may be surprised by the answer I received...

"Dear Madam,

We should like to inform you that we did not yet receive your spouse’s immigrant visa file. You may contact the National Visa Center for its current status as they will schedule the appointment. We only receive the files once they have been processed and the interview scheduled"

Ummm....?????

Please, try to take some comfort in the fact that they told you what the AP is about and that it's only pending a piece of paper that you could provide in very short order.

I have been on the receiving end in the past of two APs where I wasn't told anything except "don't call us, we'll call you!" Those type can take anywhere from weeks to years, if you could believe it!. In my case, I waited one month for the first, and 13 months for the second.

This process is full of suspense, the more you want to know the more trouble you'll become..... anyways I think Entragais posted a while ago that you can find this status on the ceac website. ..... I just want a july date for now, an early one but as it is going now I wouldnt mind July 31 lol

Thanks dwheels76! I have a question about this thing. I am getting worried coz the last time I checked the USEM, Madrid website, the notice wasn't there:

"All immigrant and fiancé visa applicants must register in the web page to get the passport and the visa documents back by mail (No Fee). The registration page must be brought the interview day."

The thing is, they didn't ask for the registration page in the interview. How am I going to get my passport back if I didn't fill up this form? Any idea dwheels76? Or has this happen to anyone of you guys who had their interviews? I appreciate your reply guys! Thanks!

Hmmmmm. This makes me worry because hubby didn't mention needing to get it translated and stamped. However his best friends girlfriend used to work at the translation office. Whenever he needs something translated he gives it to her and it's done quickly. She had our marriage cert done in a half hour.

I'm going to call him right now!

Thanks!!

Hopefully they would accept it without translation and without an apostille. I sent it to NVC and all documents i sent there had translations and apostille.

You mentioned police certificate but i see it is "Unavailable" in their list for Sofia. Your husband had police certificate? Or he had court/prison records which one is in the list?

I would seriously call the embassy and ask. Have you gone to the site to see if there is a pick up place? Hurry check with embassy to find out whats up.

Every embassy is different and has different ways to get back your passport and documents. Sorry don;t know for you.
