Okayyyyy... I'm officially here!!! Waiting for an interview date to be assigned! :dancing:

Question: Should my husband schedule his medical already or wait for the interview date/letter? He lives in Portugal, not Paris where the interview will be, so I can't find on the NVC site where he can go for a medical in Portugal because it states that the US Consulate doesn't schedule interviews there (which I knew).

Congratulations and welcome.

Call the medical and ask them if what is required to do a medical. I would surely wait until you have the interview date myself.

So the country needs to be changed to Portugal than?

Hey guys - I have the option of going back to Vietnam, but I can't decide whether I want to do that for my wife's interview or to fly back together. I can take 3 weeks off, so I'm not sure if that is enough time for interview and visa in hand to fly back together. Which one would everyone recommend?

Thanks!

Husband had his interview today. We got placed in AP/Hold because they didn't like the police records check Halifax gave us (an online one). Officer said everything else was good to go and that he wouldn't have to return to Montreal, and to courier the police records to Montreal via Loomis.

If it was a problem I wish NVC would have checklisted it...

I don't really understand you clearly... you could fly to Vietnam for your wife's interview or fly back together to where? Sorry if I'm just being dense :P

okay, editting as I think I understand now lol, go to her interview and stay as long as you can. If she's able to return with you by the end of your vacation, then you get to fly back together, otherwise she will come shortly after you... right? :)

Husband had his interview today. We got placed in AP/Hold because they didn't like the police records check Halifax gave us (an online one). Officer said everything else was good to go and that he wouldn't have to return to Montreal, and to courier the police records to Montreal via Loomis.

Oh no! I do believe I saw a post somewhere that claimed we couldn't use on-line records... but that SUCKS! Sooo sorry to see this delay happen for you :(

As I am writing this, my wife is inside the US Consulate - Mumbai. Of course no cell phone with her. Went over all the required and optional documents for the interview with her two days ago. Check, check and check. Reviewed the answers to the possible questions (the consulate reviews are awesome help).

Looking at my cellphone for it to beep any minute now. Why does it seem like that time is not moving forward at all.

Please pray for us...

The phone just rang. She gave the news I was waiting to hear. Visa approved. The interview itself was only about 2 minutes:

a. Who is calling you?

b. Love or arranaged marriage?

c. What does your husband do?

That's pretty much it.

The total time inside the consulate was less than 2 hours.

A huge thank you to everyone here at VJ. You have been like my very supportive family for almost the past year.

In particular I will be remiss if I do not mention Saylin, Kaylara, DWheels. You guys are awesome in everyway.
