My husband called to NVC today to follow up our case . but the woman said in the line they didn't receive our packet yet from the USCIS . its been 3 weeks now. since we got approved last may 13,2014. and even its auto expedite . and he called in the USCIS.

( 1st husband email to me ) .

I am on hold with USCIS. I told them that we were auto-expedited & asked why it is taking so long. I told them the NVC doesn't have our paperwork. They told me it could take up to 90 days. I asked her what is the whole point of getting the case auto-expedited if it is going to take 90 days.

She checked the computer & saw that our case was auto-expedited. Then she said it shouldn't take this long for the NVC to receive our paperwork, because we were expedited. She put me told me she is transferring me to a supervisor & put me on hold.

( And this the 2nd emailed me when my Husband talked the USCIS. )
The paperwork is at USCIS. The supervisory sent a message to the office that approved our paperwork & asked why it has not been forwarded to NVC & asked them to forward it to NVC A.S.A.P.

He told me that the office will contact me when they send the papers to the NVC. He said no later than June 19.

I don't know what you want me to do. There is no reason for you to get mad at me. It's not my fault. It's not your fault, either. It is out of our hands & we are solely dependent on these idiots doing their jobs correctly.

I'm really pissed after I knew this . I thought I can get my case number soon . :ranting:

Didn't you go from filing your I-130 to being approved in 22 days or two months I know there are two of you not sure which one. It takes about 20 to 30 days and really you should be grateful and not get so upset since you really spent no time at all at USCIS like the rest of us did. I'm happy for you don't get me wrong but NVC will be long in comparison to USCIS for you. Unless you know of a trick to make them hurry, there is no way to rush them.

Correction 14 days and may I ask how you did it and do you have any secrets for getting a early interview I really need it. :(

Hi, nvc will send u an email once they assign you a case number. You can use that letter for medical that is what I did for my spouse's advance medical at st. Lukes. To be on the safe side I emailed st lukes with the question about taking medical without interview letter and they replied with a yes. I ask my husband to bring a copy of the email along with him at the medical just in case. I believe you don't need to schedule an appointment but register online st lukes website prior to visit to save time.

Okay thank you! Where did you go to sign up for emails to be sent to you when they assign you a case number?

Whatt?? I called yesterday asking about my IV invoice and when will be up, I was told to wait 30 days from May 29th because that when they rec'd my Ds 261 (I submitted the Ds261 on April 24th and I have the confirmation),, I called today and talk to a different person that told me they never rec'd my Ds 261!!! and when I told her I have a conformation that I sent it on the 24th of April, she told I need to send an inquiry with confirmation attached to it that way they can make the change?? is it going to take 30 days to check my email??? I am really confused and wonder about these people answering the phone and from where they get the info>>>

Any suggestions? Or should it just be something general outlning the current issues we are all facing?

All the current issues, rude customer service (last on the list), delays exceeding 30 days for everything, loss of documents, not knowledgeable in what documents needed for specific Embassies delaying case complete even further, there is so much more but can't think of them right now.

Wish I could add please add more counselors at the Cairo Egypt Embassy and get rid of the monsters now working there. Don't think they will pay much attention to me on that one. :(

To update on interview scheduling as well. My case was complete in April, and even though it is our own embassies, NVC is our OBLIGATED go between while we wait for interview dates. We've paid so much money during this process, and have spent so much time apart from our family members, updates on interview scheduling as well would help.

When you respond to a checklist (for AOS) do you need to only send the new form with amendments or the whole package again with tax transcripts etc etc, surely only the form is needed!

Hi all,

I'm trying to pull together documents for the IV packet, and have a question that I have not been able to find specifically addressed on visajourney. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate input.

My husband is from Venezuela, and still residing there, so the embassy will be Caracas. Alejandreska pointed out to me that the embassy website says that birth certificates for Venezuelans are required to have an apostille from the Venezuelan government.

However, nothing in the information about sending documents to NVC mentions apostilles. Do we need to get a BC with apostille now, to include in the IV packet, or is it only necessary to take to the interview? I asked an operator at NVC, and she said it would need to be sent to them, but I'm not sure she completely understood what I was asking. The information on the embassy's site is all under the category of "what to bring to the interview".

I will try to call the embassy tomorrow to see if they can tell me more, but I was really curious if anyone else had any ideas on this? I did see someone claiming that the NVC does not require apostilles for any documents, but I don't know if that's accurate? Thoughts anyone?

Thanks!

Tried to call the embassy, but I had forgotten that they only want to hear from you by e-mail. I have written them, but it may be a few days to hear back. In the meantime, I'm still curious what others think: Does the NVC need to get the apostilles in the IV packet?

I agree and there is NO reason for the Egyptian Embassy to take from 6 to 8 months to give interviews, it's not the busiest Embassy in the world. And they time they did close was really nothing to backup interview like this. It seems to me they are above the law and no one or entity should be above the law.

OK! It took me 2 hours but I finally got caught up from yesterday! Chatty Kathies indeed!

Congrats to all CC's .

I am waiting for a case # so i am starting to gather my papers. ( I have printed Saylins WIKI and i read it every night before i sleep. My temporary bible :wow: )

I am going to do the 864 EZ . I have filed taxes for 2012 and 2013 (1040) I received the tax transcript for 2013 .

2011 unemployed therefore i will put 0 . correct ?

2012 & 2013 i will put whatever # is on line 22 on the 1040 correct ?

Last question .

Since i was unemployed 2011 and do not meet the poverty line (of 4 members) on 2012 but over exceed the poverty line on 2013 and my paystubs this year almost reached the amount required so far . Do i have to have a joint sponsor ?

Thank you

You shouldn't need one.

My DS-261 page status changed yesterday and now is displaying the following:

"Please contact the National Visa Center , if you want to change the Agent/Attorney Name or Address Information on your case.

To process your case, you must first pay any required fees. Then, each applicant accompanying the principal applicant to the United States will need to complete the online IV Application (form DS-260). The IV Application may be partially completed and finished later, or may be completed at one time. However, once submitted, please contact the NVC if you need to update the form.

After submitting the DS-260, mail all supporting documentation (as listed on the Documents The Applicant Must Submit web page) for each applicant to the NVC.

Once received, it will take the NVC 2 to 4 weeks to review your case. If any additional information is required after the review, the NVC will notify the applicant (or the applicant’s agent)."

Is that normal or does it mean the DS-261 requirement was waved? For the record, I have an EB1 case where I'm the petitioner/principal applicant and no attorney is involved.

Seriously, this system is effed up. I have no more to add about that. Maybe now that everybody's submitting their emails separately, and they're trying to make everything online and streamline, they are going to start phasing out the ds261. Or the website is messed up again.

How much we have to wait to invoice IV fees Becz for my another case stil it is not invoice and they are saying to wait 30 days.. :crying:

Has ANYBODY gotten IV fees invoiced in the last 2 weeks? Because if not, it suggests not just a controlling of workflow, but, as Austin suggested, a serious problem with the new interface on the website.

blabber mouths... chatty Kathies..... all the same... this site helps me pass the time. Just think... I get to hang out on the BORING waiver thread after my husband's interview. I will miss all of you !!!

And we will miss you... hope the current stress turns out to be nothing. I'll bet it was something that happened in the computer when the operator "removed" the mail from the 23rd.

Well, I got my case number 12 days ago, but I still can't fill out the DS-261 form or pay the AOS fee. :bonk:

I am soooooooooooooooo over all this waiting for them to get their a$$e$ in gear! I know we didn't wait toooooooooooooo long for our NOA2s, but they seem to be making up for it now!

there are 45 "onlookers' but only a few "contributors" on this thread... :wow:

I felt like such a lurker when I read that... but I hadn't read any posts since mid-afternoon yesterday and it was OUT OF CONTROL!

I'm so glad to have this forum. You guys and gals are all just awesome.... but all you folks ahead of us need to get out of my way!:rofl::rofl: It feels like NVC is having a little temper tantrum and they're not going to do ANYTHING more until (insert some unreasonable demand here).

No more talk about donuts and coffee for them until they start behaving!

Is your timeline updated?

The "AOS fee" just changed from paid to N/A on the ceac website. Looks like they are finally looking at our May 9th mail. But I am too lazy to call today. I will tomorrow though (as a birthday gift!)! I would be so disappointed not to receive a July interview though... :-(

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.
