I bet you'll be on one with movies when you go to Florida! The down side there is being stuck on the kind of long flights that justify personal screens. If a trans-Atlantic flight couldn't provide even ONE television screen, that would just be sad. The worst flight I've had was from Zurich to Boston (8ish hours), it was a massive plane with three rows of seats but only a couple of TVs over the aisles. I was trapped in the dead center of the plane, couldn't see the screens, had no windows to look out, had people on both sides of me... and one of them was an ex-boyfriend. LONG story there, haha! But I didn't even have a Kindle at the time, so it was pretty brutal. After that experience I armed myself with plenty of distractions every time I had to get on a plane ;)

Yeah, haven't flown to Florida in quite awhile. Actually, never flown domestic to Florida, it was only even international from Florida to Montreal (or vice versa). Although, if there are screens for that flight, I'll be torn between that and using up one of my free Wi-Fi passes! Maybe I can multi-task :jest:

Omg, 8 hours with nothing to do? :girlwerewolf2xn: Not to mention an ex next to you

Congratulations!! :D You're just in time for July interview scheduling. Next time you call NVC, ask them if your embassy is currently scheduling. You may have an interview date assigned within a matter of days.

Next steps, head on over to the July interview thread, make sure your medical is done, and start thinking about all the personal stuff to get done before moving!

Pfft. We made English better, we streamlined it! American English is clearly version 2.0. All those silly superfluous U's all over the place in British English. Honestly, what were you people thinking?

No really big plans for the 4th as he's flying on the 2nd, so I'll probably grill for us and we can see plenty of fireworks from the back porch. If he's feeling up to it we might go downtown, but I'm expecting a low key day for just the two of us. All that patriotism is probably a bit much for a fresh-off-the-plane Englishman anyway

 There was a city in Florida called Chuluota, and I said to my wife "Is that where all the American's "U"'s went?!

My husband is an English teacher so i cannot say anything bad about "his english".

He's from Minnesota, he laughs at Minnesotan language and plays youtube videos to make me feel like i'm there

"You betcha"

"Don't cha know"

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

How is this thread already 51 pages long? lol.

We talk too much! :dancing:

Our new joint sponsor sent their paperwork to us by snail-mail today, woot woot!

Just hoping that the package will make it to Finland alright. If all goes well, maybe we can *finally* send our AOS package next week as well. Wish NVC would just check the IV package so if we get checklisted, we could resend the IV stuff when we send our AOS. It's been 15 business days so far.

Nice!! Finally glad it all worked out for you Ellinora! Good luck!!

I have been told I have that "Philly" accent but I don't hear it  ( yo yo yo ) If you ever watch the movie Rocky , you can get an idea ! LOL although he is extreme. I divorced an English major. He was constantly correcting me.. I friggin know how to speak for god's sake...LOL I divorced his Perfect a$$ and found a real man !! HA HA

I never got to spend the 4th of July with my husband. Well, just once but we were driving and couldn't find a place to park in Philly.. He has never seen fireworks on the 4th... He was always working when he was here... BIG BUMMER but next year he will see EVERYTHING !!

My Mom is from Maine. Her entire family has that "New England " accent. My mom has been in PA for almost 60 years, so I only notice it on certain words. Southern accents are awesome. My youngest daughter likes the English accent alot.

 . Philly accent.. You all talk funny.. ;). There is something about girls and English accents..! Have you gotten an interview date?! I'm pretty sure you are going to have a July interview!

Haha! That sounds aboriginal from south of the border, I'm not even convinced I could pronounce it properly. My husband isn't fond of all the Native American names in this part of the country... Massasoit, Wampanoag, Chappaquiddick... they disagree with his English sensibilities  But I'll take those over English place names like "Nob End" and "Shitterton" anyday. Who thought those were good ideas?!

Oh God 10 days just to get ds261. It used to happen in 2 days. Why does every backlog has to make sure they reach us! This means another week of waiting for me.

My case number was assigned May 23. My husband gave over our email addresses to them.

I got my case number on May 23. I'm still waiting for an email asking me to fill out the DS-261 form and pay the AOS fee. :bonk:

It's been 11 days. :wow:

Not to mention that many people are reporting that they can't pay the IV fee. :bonk:

Something to look forward to down the road. :dead:
