Start by asking your lawyer for a tracking number. I have read they sometimes take upto a week to scan things into their system.

Thanks Naumanxenon

My husband asked him but he said he sent out docs... that's it...

my husband blindly trust on lawyer, so he said just wait....

but I m so worried b'se Its about my original docs...

Throwing this out here for a friend. She got her case # on May 28th. Her lawyer apparently has yet to pay the fees. She naturally sent him a ####### letter and he stated that "I need to receive the invoice from NVC before we can move forward. There is nothing we can do to force the NVC to move faster, but if you have the invoice please forward it to me. There has not been another month lost. There has been a false report of an invoice sent on June 6, and there have been efforts by you and by me to get the invoice re-sent."

What?! I didn't use an attorney so I don't know if the e-mails are different, but the lawyer is clearly jerking them around, yes? Has anyone ever heard of a 'false' invoice before?

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

Uhhhhh, I have never heard of "false report of an invoice". False checklists? Yes. False invoices? No.

When your friend signs into the payment portal, can they see the two invoices in there, waiting to be paid? If yes, I'd suggest they point that out to the lawyer. If the lawyer still resists, can they not pay the fees themselves? Does the lawyer absolutely have to pay for them?

Unless they have a really difficult case (like requiring a waiver), I'd suggest they fire the lawyer for incompetence. That's ridiculous :bonk:

Yes, my wife is a physician, but she has already done her residency and fellowship. So, this position (and others) are not tied to a Sept. 15th start date; however, the question is how willing the clinic will be to wait on her if this gets delayed any longer. The crazy thing is that we've been in the NVC since Feb. You would think that they could get us through by Sept. But, in the process, I've learned that it's truly a mug's game to try to forecast when we might have it in hand. It's next to impossible to try to plan your life (moving, jobs, etc.). I've recently written to my state senator in Colorado and I've requested an expedite on our case, but don't really know if it will mater.

Holy COW, February this is just wrong when others they are letting them take documents to the Embassy so they don't have to wait any longer. I'm sure you talked to a supervisor but I have to ask, what did they say? Have you called recently? (F) (L) (F)

Here's what I did and suggest you do: fill out a DS-230. Then compare that to the DS-260 screenshots (linked in my wiki). Whatever information is extra (aka not on the DS-230), write it down either on paper on a note file on your computer. Then, when it's time to fill the DS-260, you'll have all the information handy :)

That's exactly what I thought. I'm not sure on the details of their case, but it doesn't appear like there's anything wonky going on. I sent her your response. Thanks so much as always!!!! :-D

No problem! ^_^ Hopefully it works out and no more time is wasted.

Well, if you can't read at this point, perhaps a lawyer is needed :P Although, from what I've seen here, they aren't that much better at reading

Hi all,

I received a NOA2 for my wife yesterday. The case is being sent to NVC. My questions is from your experiences, which one is faster and efficient EP or snail mail for NVC stage? Your feedback and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Just in case no one answered your question and you are eligible for EP, I see people that have enrolled in it post "DON'T DO IT" it for some reason takes longer and you have to wait a full 30 days for them to enroll you in it. I would use Snail Mail, get's where you want it in two days or less.

What do you mean that others are allowed to just take their papers to the embassy and don't have to wait any longer?! I will tell you that I have called the NVC nearly every day for the past month and a half. You do not want to see my long distance bills. I've talked to supervisors; I've had a supervisor review and I've requested expedition, and I don't get anywhere in this process. That's why I've reached out to my state senator; but honestly don't think they can do much either.

Hey, I looked in the NVC Wiki and did not see a link to print out the old DS-230 to practice for the DS-260. Do you have a link for that? :)

Was going to post the link, but see a few others have done so already, also Saylin has updated the Wiki (Thanks Saylin!)

Hi all Vjs

I need ur help

Our lawyer sent out iv docs & aos on 7th June but nvc says they don't received any docs from our side.

now what should we do?

our lawyer said he sent out all things...

I m so worried...

Does your lawyer have delivery receipt/signature? They do take some time for it show as received on their system, but not this long. Definitely speak to the lawyer and ask for proof of delivery.

Doc scan date means what?

they received our docs or reviewed docs ?

Scan date is the date they receive the document into the system (usually a week or so after its physically received in the building). They will tell you the docs are being reviewed, so asked them to clarify if this means waiting to be reviewed or under review, for clarification.

Hey hi all

I am in bit of confusion can somebody please help me with it...I send my ds-261 on 10th june and aos package send on 15th june,my iv fee is not invoiced yet...

Can somebody please tell me how long would it take to get the iv fee invoiced and how long will it take for case complete after sending the iv package..

Thanks!

It's taking about 4 weeks from the DS-261 to receiving IV invoice. They are currently processing everything (including DS-261's) from 23rd May give or take a few days.

Once you've paid the IV fee you can print off the cover sheet and send your docs. Once the IV payment changes from in process to paid, you can complete the DS-260. Once they scan in your IV packet, considering no Checklists for AOS or IV (other than false ones) start counting case complete from there. Like I say, at the moment it's approx 4 weeks, but that can change, either faster or slower. If you keep an eye on what activity it happening on this thread you can have an indication on when to expect movement on your case. For example, someone today mentioned that they had docs approved from May 23rd. I'm waiting on docs being reviewed from May 27th. Since 24th, 25 and 26th were weekend and federal holiday, I know that 27th is next. My last scan date was Jun 17th so I have to wait a bit more time before I can dream of Case Complete.
