Called and talked Don I think his name was. Super nice guy, but he got me confused. Told me that they passed May 27 EP and if I had sent it in they would have it referenced under the new system. Then said actually that date was not under the new system, and they infact have not gotten to those e-mails.. so confused! He said check back next week.

I just want to clear something up that I am unsure about. I was always under the impression that the AoS fee cannot be invoiced until you fill out the DS-261. Some posts I am reading lately suggest otherwise. Are they completely independent of each other? I still can’t do either one but should I be constantly checking both, or just the DS-261?

I - 130 sent 2014-04-18

Got NOA1 2014-04-22

I-130 approved 2014-05-14

NVC received 2014-05-23

DS-261/AOS bill 2014-07-01

Submit DS-261 2014-07-01

Paid AOS 2014-07-01

Sent AOS pack 2014-07-04

IV fee invoice ???

You're confusing AOS and IV.

The DS-261 is what releases the IV fee.

I suggest call back and verify. I sent my IV package on May 28 and they can see my email in the system, they haven't review it yet. As usual the 30 business days to get an answer from the time they get the email in the system. Maybe I understood wrong, someone else can give any input? For people doing EP is a total different time frame.

I'm hoping it might be that I have to wait the standard 30 business days for them to enroll it also, since at the time it said to just send in the package to the e-mail with the case number as the subject. It didn't say we had to enroll if you had an embassy that HAS to use EP. I don't know, I wish someone from Jordan or somewhere that HAD to use EP can give some feekback. Thanks anyways for the heads up.

A few weeks ago, someone mentioned that NVC changed procedure regarding EP to do away with requirement to enroll. It seems emailing IV docs is taken as an automatic enrollment request now. I would verify if I were you, though.
