Our embassy has emailed us yesterday requesting I bring Photocopies of 2013 U.S. taxes of your spouse and your joint sponsors (names).

It doesn't specify returns vs transcripts, and our AOS forms were sent to NVC early enough that we used 2012 as the most recent year, so the consulate clearly wishes to see 2013 taxes. I'll also take (to the interview) fresh 2013 AOS's that my husband and joint sponsor/her hubby have provided/ sent to me recently

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment

until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of

the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at

There's no need to post the same thing more than once. Someone will come along and answer your question.

They finished scheduling interviews for July, scheduling for August won't start until possibly the last day of June and up to the first two weeks of July... If you go to the July Interview thread you can get more of an idea of how long you can wait.

Your scheduling of interview will be very soon, so be patient. .

I have read the NVC Wiki a million times already and was also trying to search on the NVC web site but I wanted to make sure something is correct: Does my sister (who is going to be the joint sponsor) need to provide ONLY a photocopy of her U.S. passport/birth certificate in order to show proof of U.S. citizenship? Yes. . Doesn't need to be the original, photocopy will suffice.

You're welcome . They checklist my wife for a w-2 form for 2013 tax return. The UK doesn't provide W-2's, only P60's which are the equivalent of W-2's.. She even put this in the cover letter of the AOS package. Gotta love the NVC.

They are if you are working in the US and are sending in your 1040 tax return, rather than your 2013 tax transcript. There's an issue my wife found about not being able to obtain her tax transcript.. Which is another headache for her to deal with now!

I know it is listed in the NVC Wiki that Saylin made but I wanted to see it on the official page as well. Do you have a direct link by any chance?

I'm going to have a MOAN.. because I'm just really in a mood today! Reading the NVC job reviews..One in particular, really ticked me off..!

I'm sorry that I'm desperate to go back to the states to live and be with my wife. I'm sorry that we fell in love, and people like you have to deal with millions of applications for people to come to the US legally. Believe me, I'm not DESPERATE to get over there. I'm desperate to see my wife happy, because that makes me happy, and it makes me happy to be with her. We tried the UK, it's not her thing, and she's been here long enough more than she needs to. This makes me angry because there's people who want to be with their loved ones, and you're going to say we're just desperate to be in America.. Um, no.. This is why no offense, people around the world thing Americans are ignorant because they think we just want to get into America.

Hello, is there anyway to avoid getting charged so much every time I call NVC? I'm using skype out of country and spending quite a bit of money waiting on hold for so long. I'm calling from Taiwan for what it's worth.

It depends when u got ur case complete. But from what I have seen on the interview thread it takes about one month. Like if u got case complete mid June then expect interview in August. Good luck

I am really sad. For some reason my husband can't download tax transcripts from IRS website. It's not giving him access. I thought we will be able to download in minutes so we didn't worry about it before. Now we will waste around 10 days if we order them by mail. He has the returns but not w2 and 1099 so we can't send that either. I have the worst luck with this process I think. Has it happened to anybody else?

My partner had the same problem. Yes, you can request it and wait for it in the mail.

If you're in a hurry (LOL Who isn't on here? I just entertained myself!), you can visit your local tax office, and they can print it out while you're there.
