It's getting more frustrating day by day...not hearing anything from NVC :(

I'm all set to mail the IV packet, pay the IV fee & submit D260 but I haven't heard anything back...tired of calling & checking email...I don't even want to look at the calendar at this point....all they tell you is wait for 30 days for every darn thing!!!

Angry, frustrated, sad, irritated...and what not!

Can putting 000-00-0000 for my husband's social security number on my college financial aid papers mess his visa process up or future ssn problems?

Not at all, my husband did the same recently, because I don't have a ssn yet

I'm sorry, I'rm addicted to calling NVC. Just got done with my second call for today. I didn't catch the name of the lady I talked to and she sounded really tired.

Have a bit of good news though, our AOS checklist response have been received (entered to their system) on the 16th of June.

Now another countdown begins. I'm really hoping that there will be no more checklist for us.

If takes 4 weeks to get IV invoice, then I should get it the end of the month, then I need another month to get documents reviews and CC, then another month to get an interview date, and another month for the interview , that will be 3 month from July, if anything go without checklist then I should hope I will be done by Oct if I am still a live (this is really ridiculous) that is almost 2 years to get your wife/husband here :protest::protest:

YESSSSSSSS I TOLD MY HUBBY UMMM you might not be here till OCTOBER OR NOVEMBER by the way they are going like seriously. :ranting:

Today is my 12-month "immi-versary". One year since we made the decision and sent the paperwork for the I-130 to return the US and we are still waiting. I am not complaining, as others have waited longer. But, there is something wrong with a system that makes it so difficult for me to return home with the family I have created.

I know there are a lot of factors involved in the delays, but I have such a straighforward case (married 11 years, no divorces or other complicated family situation, no criminal history, make enough money, etc.) my family can't believe or understand why it is taking me so long to get there.

I continue to wait as patiently as I can and enjoy coming to VisaJourney to read about everyone's good news that keeps me positive that there is an end in sight. :whistle:

How do you know, from your timeline it seems like you case hasn't been approved yet. And I heard when you put 000-00-0000 the financial aid office asks for proof, like why don't they have a ssn. I want to go to college so bad but I'm so scared I don't want any future problems with this looong visa process, I'm already tired of waiting, and don't want to risk anything.

Well, apparently the checklist I received meant that my AOS package was approved, because I just called NVC and they said that they reviewed it today :yes: . They only need to approve my Civil Documents, which were scanned on the 19th :dancing:

My visa hasn't been approved yet, but I doubt that would be a problem. My husband asked before doing so to the FAFSA representative, and she said that it was fine.

If they ask, you just say that your spouse has never lived in the US before, you could send a copy of their foreign passport as proof, for instance, and maybe proof of education/work abroad... If they ask for proof after your spouse arrives to the US, then you could just update the ssn and explain that he recently got a green card and ssn... This could be easily proven with a copy of the visa or a copy of the green card.

I know that this whole process is very important, and we get paranoid about everything, it's natural. But in this case I doubt there will be problems. You could always ask somebody who works with FAFSA, and/or send an email to nvcinquiry@state.gov , just to be sure and to have peace of mind :):yes:

¿Por qué algunas personas tienen DS261 completa y aceptada en el mismo día y algunos dicen que hay un período de revisión de 30 días de negocios? Todavía estoy esperando en una factura IV que vendría después es aceptado DS261, ¿no? Completé DS261, el 5/12. Todavía estoy esperando ....
