Okay so I have some news. Someone posted this on a Facebook Group (Paola E.)

I called a few minutes ago. A representative told me NVC is working overtime!

The supervisor I spoke with this week explained to me that the issue they're currently having is that everyone seems to submit their paperwork on the same date. Therefore, they can only work 1 date at a time until they finish that one. She seemed very knowledgeable and she was very helpful in answering my questions and giving me some pointers with my checklist.

So, this explains why they've been working on the same date range for the whole week!

And that they are actually working overtime. Maybe the representative who said they were not working overtime wasn't very knowledgable, or maybe someone directed her not to say anything??

If this is true, then we're probably going to see some faster processing after they clear up those dates Hopefully Monday will bring good news to many of us

This is completely retarded. USCIS going all out while NVC sleeping now. This better not effect our processing speeds!!!

First of all you should check USCIS website with your receipt number, it will show the exact date that USCIS shipped your case to NVC. Then allow 1-2weeks and start calling NVC to know if they have received your case file, when you are told the exact date NVC received your case, you should allow 20-25days to get your case number or IIN. Mine took 23days to get my case number and I got it by calling NVC. You can check my signature and other timelines to guild you.

The first part of your comment is not always true. Back when I got approved, this seemed to be an NSC glitch. I was approved at CSC and my status never changed to let me know when my case was shipped to NVC.

I'm only stating this so people don't freak out if their USCIS never updates to reflect shipment :-D

I don't know how true that is since the AOS and IV go to different departments. Last night someone reported that their AOS was reviewed but the IV hadn't even been touched yet (sent and received on the same date at NVC).

Quick edit: I'm hesitant to believe news just because it coincides with what we want to believe. Forgive my cynicism at this stage, but I find it hard to believe they're working overtime if within the last week processing times have increased (and continue to do so).

Same with me, it's not a glitch thought, CSC don't provide further updates after NOA2.

Won't be calling back until 4pm tonight.. hope there is good news on our AOS. If not, there goes an August interview out the window!

Oh well, I understood that she meant that most people decided to do send their packages at the same date range (not that most people send their AOS and IV together)...

So if, for instance, NVC usually receives 100k packages a week, then on the May 13th week they received 500k packages... (I'm making up numbers but you get my point). And maybe the next week they received less packages...

any progress on youe case?We submitted ASO on 7th may and is approve but for IVy submitted 4th june and waiting for CC.Got false checklist to submit IVy document even though we already submitted.

NVC is backlogged from the tail end of the USCIS backlog at NVC, the sudden rush of approved I-130s at NVC and on top of that the Diversity Visa applicants I believe are at NVC right now. That all happened right around the same time, so that part does make sense (they're sifting through an unusual amount of mail, as the Agent told me as well the other day).

I'm still hesitant to believe the overtime thing. Perhaps they did the Saturday after Memorial Day, but beyond that I doubt it. Last week it was taking 16 business days to review mail, now it's lingering around 21 business days. Overtime should be having the opposite result lol
