International Courier Express taking a week!?

It takes 7 days to send a letter from North America to Asia or Europe by regular mail.

Maybe it takes longer from Australia?

Not typically, I think it is 3-5 business days. My bad luck was I lodged it on Saturday (the post office is open but nothing actually being sent out) and Monday was a public holiday. It worked out for the best for me since my parcel was still where I left it on Tuesday so I could update the documents. PHEW!

Not sure if anyone has ever heard of this situation before but if so, I'd SO appreciate someone sharing with me.

After seeing a few Australians get early July interviews, I am FREAKING OUT.

I got my case complete on June 9th and I am now thinking we might get a July 8th or July 15th interview. This COULD be a problem because I still have a package waiting to be reviewed, scanned in on June 6th (I am kicking myself now for sending it...). It will most likely be reviewed the first week of July, sent to the embassy within the same week....

My package might not make it to the Sydney consulate before our interview! Is there any way I can call and ask them to expedite the review of our package if we do receive an interview date for the 8th or the 15th??

^{We may or may not get checklisted for a Hong Kong and a Singapore Police Clearance Certificate. If we do will they give us a Case Complete and we can get the Police Certificates sent direct to the Consulate ready for the interview. This will save, like, a month.}

I thought that case complete meant that the case would be shipped to the consulate soon.

I guess you could call to find out if they HAVE to check that extra package or if they'll just ignore it because you already got a CC...

Even if they do ask me to fill out and I put in $0 as adjusted gross income. Would they then ask me to do 864a for my dad since I am using his info?

And if thats the case then what happens to my already submitted 864 on my dad's behalf?

Hi there, I'm doing good alhamduliallah!

Just to be on the safe side, fill out I-864 and put $0 as total income for you for all the years since you did not work and write a letter explaining that you did not work because you were a student.

Also, have your dad fill out I-864a and don't forget to send all supporting documents as if you were sending AoS packet fresh. This way, you will be sure your packet is complete in case they don't agree with your joint sponsor filling out I-864 not I-864a.

They said that they have to review all packages before they send the completed packet to the embassy.

Our package scanned in June 4th will not be reviewed until July 1st at the EARLIEST. If they sent it to Sydney the next day or day after, it would be arriving on the 8th or 9th, the 8th would be the interview.

And that is assuming a 3 week + 2 day review time, and it seems to be back logging even more now.

They are reviewed independently, my IV and DS260 is fine and complete, however i got a review for my AOS ....

I believe they will review the IV docs anyway while waiting on the AOS checklist response.

From what I have read on here, they will review in the order received so if your IV was received before your AOS checklist response, then they will review and if all ok can complete your case after they accept your checklist documents.

Same here, we received check list about birth/marriage certificate, police/court record, and when I called yesterday the representative told me that my IV package has not been reviewed yet, and to not send anything still and to wait for the e-mail. I don't know maybe they reviewed response on AOS check list so they ask for my documents before they even new that the package is in the building.

Thank you so much for your replies. Our response to our AOS checklist was delivered today. I think I'm going to call them on Friday or early next week to check if they scanned it to their system.

I'm really hoping they'll approve us soon.

Yesterday when I called, i was told that if you have a lawyer listed in your DS-261 (Online Choice of Agent and Address). Then you will get the AOS and IV around the same time. If you dont have a lawer listed then you will have to wait 30 days for the IV. If any one else calls please verify if this is true. I did not used a lawyer, so 30 day wait for me. I feel is punishment for not paying a layer.

That's actually wrong information. I did not have a lawyer and my AOS and IV were both available almost the same time.

My cousin living in New York told me he had to wait 30 days for IV to become available and he had a lawyer. So I can tell whoever gave you that piece of information, doesn't know much.
