That was a bust. Agent Kim (I think) first got the embassy wrong, then tried to tell me my case # was wrong.

Then she said my IV has not been reviewed yet and it will take 6 weeks to review. I said the web site only says 2-4 weeks, why is there such a discrepancy? She said I need to give it 30 business days. Then I asked what date range they were working on and she said "ma'am, that is information I am not willing to give you".

So much for today being the day. :ranting::ranting:

Not willing?? Eww.... Meanie. It's your week though and tomorrow it's already midweek. Your almost there!!

So does this mean that when we get interview dates they'll be cranking them out like wildfire?? And I thought waiting for CC was bad... Yea ok

We needed something upbeat on the thread today. Too much aggravation and sadness. Maybe tomorrow is a better day. :D

As you may already know the NVC is extremely backlogged. You should call them and find out. But nowadays they are taking 30 days to review anything that comes their way.

Guys, I spoke with Gus last night. He was really nice and upbeat. He told me that most NVC employees are working 16 hour shifts in addition to Saturdays. He said they are working hard to keep things on track however he has heard rumors now that it will take even longer for IV fees to be generated. Not sure what that meant.

Quick Question: :huh2:

According to http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process, you need to include the following:

-Original or Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

-Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

Is it necessary to include a photocopy of your birth certificate and marriage certificate? I've read some postings that some people got a checklist because the reviewer thought they sent two copies. I mean reviewers can make copies, right? I was just wondering if there was a good reason why we should include photocopies.

The reason for photocopies is so that they can return the originals/certified copies back at the time of an approved interview.

It states right on NVC's page to submit photocopies: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html (second paragraph)

I think it's so they'll have a full set of documents they can keep on file, in addition to the originals that they will return to you at the interview. I, too, think they should be able to make their own d@mn photocopies, but apparently they can't. Maybe you can put a post it on the original one, marked "original" if they look the same. Neither my birth certificate nor my marriage certificate are letter size paper, though, so it's obvious which one is the original. Doesn't actually affect me, since I'm doing EP and will bring all the originals to the interview.

I called today too... Got Waldo. They haven't reviewed my AOS package, which was scanned on May 16... But I'm sure that this is our week because people from the 14th and 15th had their packages reviewed today! (according to FB groups and some VJ posts).

Good news for me is that they approved my expedite request... So technically once the case is complete they'll assign an interview date sooner. Let's see if it's true...

Good luck to all of you who are waiting :clock:

Thank GOD! Finally got a fee bill invoice for the visa :)

Congrats, it's good to see that there is progress here now. It seems like if we got our case numbers 2 weeks before we would never have this IV problem.
