I just check May filers. Charlotte office just sent interview letter for May filer.their interview date is 9/16. So we might get interview in October .4month wait.

my wife applied on Jun 11th and still have not got fingerprint letters.

We got notice of acknowledgement right after sending application. about a week ago got yellow letter describing have your id's ready.

Online status states - initial review

She applies to chicago.

Why she has not receive fingerprint letters yet? should i contact them about this or wait for it to come?

Wanted to let you know that I filed in June as well. Got my fingerprints pretty fast and have been waiting for 4 weeks for my interview letter. I received a yellow letter (dates August 6) stating that while reviewing my file they determined that I needed more documents to provide. Once they finish reviewing they will schedule me for the interview. Documents needed at the date of Interview: ID and all passports.....

Not sure what they are reviewing if all additional documents they need at the interview is my ID and passport...

Hi Guys,

I am a June filer, package sent June 14, NOA received June 20, fingerprints letter received on July 26, Fingerprints taken June 27, received email and text on July 22 (one month before my anniversary) letting me know that my case was placed in line for interview.

I dont have any other news at this point.

I noticed that most of you received a yellow letter already asking for some kind of documents to bring to the interview. I did not.

My question is if everyone receive that yellow letter that everybody is talking about? I am a little concern because i haven't.

Any reply would be appreciated.

Hello,

Received the yellow paper, requesting to bring proof that i have never abandoned my continuous residency.... also passport (the current and the expired ones as well) and all other travel documents.

Updated the info

Checked the case status online and saw that they scheduled me for interview .Not sure about the date yet...

Here is my long story short ...

I applied for 10 year GC on marriage basis. I applied with my husband in November (filing jointly to remove conditions)

April 4 my husband died (my whole world went down)

April 11 I got mt GC approved. there was 7 day gap before my GC got approved. Honestly, at the moment I didnt really think of my GC since I had my whole life shifted 100 degrees to unknown direction.

Once the burial ceremony was completed and I got myself together. I did bring the case to the lawyer's attention who told me that at that point there is nothing I could have done.

Now I am little nervous bcs I don't know if they might deny me bcs of that fact....

i'm a June filer.. just check my status from the website its says that On August 11, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview. You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.

I'm just really excited right now..

I think you should be fine. In fact, even if your husband had passed away before you applied to remove conditions, you may have been able to go ahead and get your 10 year green card. Please read through this thoroughly in case I misunderstood it and in case your interviewer isn't familiar with this law (it happens). The law covering green cards for spouses of recently deceased US citizens was modified in 2009.

Pending Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

Additionally, if USCIS has jurisdiction to act on a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, that is the subject of litigation on this issue in any Federal court, USCIS will notify applicants in writing that their Form I-485 has been reopened. If the widow(er) entered the United States as a K-1 nonimmigrant and filed an I-485 after marrying the deceased U.S. citizen, he or she will be deemed the beneficiary of a Form I-360 Widow(er) petition. If a widow(er) with an approved Form I-130 and a pending Form I-485 left the United States voluntarily after his or her petitioning U.S. citizen spouse died, and thus “abandoned” his or her adjustment application, the approved Form I-130 is converted to an approved Form I-360, so that the widow(er) may apply for an immigrant visa abroad.

I assume that if someone who is still in the AOS phase after being on a K1, can go ahead and get their green card, then you should be fine since you already had a 2 year card when your husband passed away.

It is very helpful. I was entered with 2 year GC. Had a son from my husband in 2010 and applied for ROC jointly. Never left USA for more than 3 weeks.

Thanks for the information. Lawyer told I should be fine as well. So I did file the application alone without a lawyer . I will keep you guys posted once I know when I am scheduled for the interview !
