Form I-485, Application to Register

Hello:

My wife and I filed her Form 1-485, Application to Register in late November, 2013. At the time the processing times for our local office were 4 months and now it shows 5.8 months. How long does it generally take to have your interview? We heard a couple months ago that there is a chance we may not have our interview due to processing times within the two year timeframe. Has anyone else had this issue? It is difficult waiting and not knowing what to do next. Perhaps this part is common. We did receive her employment authorization card and ability to travel. Thank you!

It is hard to answer you with no timeline. Filling it in helps everyone in the forum, and helps you get the answer you need.

If you entered on K-1, then there is a whole forum devoted to Adjustment of Status from K-1. Reading that will answer your questions.

If you had a K-1, your interview can be waived, in which case it can take about a year for AOS to be approved.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Agreed with Harpa. You might be a potential interview waiver case, and might get a notice for this soon: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/452854-notice-of-potential-interview-waiver-case/

Processing time for this currently takes about 8 - 12 months.
