Mailing Documents to NVC

Do i need to mail separate packages containing supporting documents for me and my son to NVC?or can i just send them together in one mail through a courier?

Put each person's case in a separate envelope, and then put both cases into one envelope and mail the big envelope to the NVC.

Or both stacks in one envelope with each stack covered by the appropriate bar coded cover sheet downloaded from the payment portal site.

Thanks. Called the nvc and they prefer it to be mailed separately to avoid confusion. Oh well,
