I'm a current Canadian citizen starting the K1 visa process with my fiance. My 2 kids and I will be moving to the United States.

My question is this, the closest US Embassy is in Montreal which is 9 hours away from me. I do live in a border town that is 5 minutes from Michigan. Is there a closer option or should I just stick to listing Montreal?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Montreal is your closest US consulate processing K-1/K-2 visa applications.

If you live anywhere east of Manitoba you have no choice, you must have your visa interviews at the US consulate in Montreal.

Please note there is only one US embassy in Canada, the one in Ottawa. The rest are consulates.
