Hi everyone,

My fiancee received his packet in China last week, but I still haven't gotten any mail from the NVC?!!!

I used a visa service company in San Francisco when I applied, so I'm not sure if that affects me in not receiving any emails or texts. But I haven't gotten any emails or texts like everyone else is talking about, just physical mail.

I'm wondering if I should call the NVC or give it a few more days?

Is it normal to receive your notification more than a week after the packet is mailed to your fiancee's home?

He should be mailing the first part to the consulate tomorrow (He had to wait until he could get days off to travel home and pick it up!)

Thanks!

Why do you want mail from NVC?

Your case already passed NVC and your fiance is communicating with the consulate. That is what you want.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I thought that I would receive a notification from NVC with the new case number?

Is the case# not on the documentation he received from the consulate?

if you want the consular casefile # from NVC,

call them ! use a telephone ! give over the USCIS Receipt # and the NVC TeleOperator will give you the GUZ #.

otherwise - since GUZ IV is communicating with yer fiance,

you should study a bit over at

ustraveldocs.com/cn

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Suggest you avoid listening to what everyone else is talking about and read the directions that you were provided by the Guangzhou Consulate. For the record, a letter from the NVC is NOT required for the interview, or at any point during the immigration process. However, if you want a copy of the letter for your records you will need to call the NVC and request it making sure to verify your address and telephone number with them.
