NVC Schedules for SDO?

Hi there. Forgive me if my question is redundant. My husband and I had to resubmit 2 documents claiming that they were not obtained from the correct Dominican authorities. Regardless, that set us back a few weeks.

Once NVC completes our case, NVC had told me that THEY (NVC) schedule the I-130 interviews for Santo Domingo. Can anyone verify this? And what is the current lag time b/w completion and interviews in the DR? Thanks.

I just want this to be over. This waiting has drained me and turned me absolutely miserable.

Yes NVC schedules DR and they are way slow. Its been from 2 to 4 month wait after Case Complete because the embassy is so busy.

All you can do is first get Case Complete and wait. Sorry.

I was under the impression that spouse visas came first. Why would the wait be 2-4 months? What are we waiting for? I do not understand this. The supervisor with whom I spoke gave me the impression that interviews were scheduled for 30 days after the case was complete. Please help me understand.

People who filed and got case complete before you are still waiting for their interview schedules. It's not their fault nor NVC's. It's the fault of the US Embassy in DR which is heavily backlogged maybe because they're under-staffed or just purely incompetent.

Is that true for all? On the spreadsheet, there was an example where a case was completed 1/31/2014, the interview scheduled on 2/21/2014, and the interview conducted on 3/3/2014? How is that possible?

Well for K-1 Visas, the embassy in the Dominican Republic schedules the interview. Not sure if it is the same for K-3 Visas ... I would assume so.

Jan 25, 2014: I-129F Sent

Feb 13, 2014: NOA1

Apr 15,2014: NOA2 Notice Via USCIS Web Site

Apr 22, 2014: NOA2 Received In Postal Mail

Apr 28: 2014: NVC Received

Apr 30: 2014: NVC Left

May 09, 2014: Embassy Received

Jul 08, 2014: Interview - Approved - CEAC Status Ready

Jul 14 2014: CEAC updated but still READY Status

Jul 16 2014: CEAC Status changed to Administrative Processing

Jul 22 2014: CEAC Status changed to Issued

Jul 28 2014: VISA received

Aug 06 2014: U.S. Arrival (Ft. Lauderdale POE)

Mar 02 2016: Received notice that they received the RFE evidence

Mar 11 2016: NVC Process finished, now awaiting interview time slot to be scheduled

Mar 29 2016: Called NVC and found out today they scheduled interview

Apr 01 2016: Received Packet 4 notice via e-mail with interview date

Apr 25 2016: Children received P4 letters in the mail

Not that this probably makes much of a difference, but I realized that my information on my timeline was incorrect. Our K3 was terminated b/c the I-130 was processed beforehand.

What I'm trying to say is that we're in the IR1/CR1 category, as I am an American-born citizen petitioning for my husband in the Dominican Republic. I knew we weren't in a "preference" category; however, I still hope our wait isn't that long. Other than having to resubmit 2 Acta Inextensas sealed, notorized, etc. we should be fine.

You are a USC, so you won't wait long. I have been monitoring and it's about a month after case complete. Unfortunately F2a, has to wait for visa to be available and that's when the wait is longer.
