Well its been a long road but we are finally at the end! My 22 yr old passed her citizenship interview yesterday and now we're just waiting for the oath ceremony letter in the mail.

All I can say is that I will never be so glad as the day they hand her the citizenship certificate and we are FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jan 2007 was when we filed out K1/K2 and since then we've had relatively few, if any bumps relating to immigration (knock on wood now)

06/17/11 - status change - scheduled for interview

I've had it for 3 years now and its great not having to worry about your GC anymore. You finally belong somewhere.

I am going to be going through the N-400 process in November, and I am very excited to be done as well :) Dual Citizenship is going to be nice.

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Congrats!!! We're just planning our POE after getting approved for our K1. Although we are relatively new to the process, I can't wait for the day when I can say we're also done with all the immigration 'stuff'!

The 10-15 minutes of interview drove me crazy in the waiting room. I was really impressed at how much she'd studied, she'd memorized them perfectly and for someone with ADHD that was quite a feat for her. She dressed very professionally which made me proud that she took it seriously.

Your boys will be just fine - its the 'mom' in us that always has doubts.

Aww how nice she must also be proud of herself.

I won't be going with them, I will have to stay home with the little ones I'm hoping they will have enough sense to call me and tell me rather then me waiting till they get home. My husband probably won't be much better about calling me :P

Yes mom is always a mess for these things.

I am waiting on my DH's naturalization interview. I can't wait to be done with the Department of Homeland Insecurity. No more "waiting" will be nice. For now, my DH has been in line for an interview in Detroit since April 8. Looking forward to having his interview and then his oath ceremony sometime in the next few months.

For now, my DH has been in line for an interview in Detroit since April 8. Looking forward to having his interview and then his oath ceremony sometime in the next few months.
