Sealed brown envelope... how to get my passport inside?

So now I have my passport back together with a sealed brown envelope from the Embassy here in Manila. My question is (I know this might sound dumb) how am I going to get my passport if it's sealed with a plastic together with the brown envelope? It clearly says do not open. And is my K1 visa in there somewhere?

Upon entry into the United States you will hand that to the Officer the entire packet and they will review all of the information inside of it. Don't open that envelope. If you are taking multiple flights I would call the embassy and ask them what you should do since your passport is in the sealed envelope

You need get rhe passport , inside that envelope there is another envelope and the passport.

You cant flight without passport , inside there is anotger envelope.

Here in my country dometimes when they delivery passport the guy who make the delivery open the packet to show to the beneficiary the passport and the real envelope that he or she cant open.

You can open the plastic and remove the passport. Do not open the brown envelope, that's all.

When you enter at your POE they will take the brown envelope. It will not be returned to you.

By all means -- open the plastic bag to get the passport, just don't open the brown sealed envelope.

No other way to get that most important CFO sticker without your passport.

THANKS Merrytooth! Fiance was scared she didn't get anything back from it. What is this OP referring to 'passport inside'? My fiance has her passport with an embedded US Visa page on the back. She got it hand delivered by courier. Is this referring to some older process?

For some US consulates, the brown/yellow envelope and passport with VISA stamp inside are delivered to the beneficiary looking like this:

So the advice here is to open the plastic cover to retrieve the passport but DO NOT open the sealed brown/yellow envelope.

For my case, I collected the brown envelope and my passport from the US consulate personally. My passport was never inside any plastic cover.

The U.S. Embassy Manila puts both the brown envelope and the passport in a clear plastic bag like the one shown in the post above.

Just open the plastic and remove your passport.
