You don't need to wait for the instructions letter from US embassy in Manila, as it rarely arrives. Once you have the MNL#, you can now pay for the visa application fee and then schedule the appointment date.

Here are some blogs for your reading pleasures, especially written for K1s from Philippines:

Yes! :) She can now go ahead, first thing tomorrow morning, and pay the visa application fee. Hank's site explains the steps that follow: http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

Actually, even now, you can start an online profile for her here: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/

-This is where online scheduling of interview appointment is done.

Once you pay the fee you can go back online and set an interview appt.

RIght now the last I heard they are booked solid so you have to wait for dates to open up, but you can keep looking online every day. Once you see a date, grab it before someone else does.

Definitely do not wait for the instruction letter. Candy's interview appt is in 12 days, and we still have not gotten that letter and may never get it.

It takes a couple weeks on average for the file to reach Manila from NVC.

Everything with USEM is done online, I would not sit around waiting for the "welcome letter" from USEM... it rarely arrives.. after all PhilPost is not known for delivering ;) .... as we well know.

Do you have your MNL# number? If so then it is ROCK 'n' ROLL time ! Follow the flashing arrow below in my signature...

Then pop over to the Philippines forum for answers better related to the process there
