Hello everyone. I am new here; my name is Sam. I am a U.S. citizen about to begin the immigration process for my Mexican wife. My wife, who is in Mexico, is currently filling out form g-325a to send with the form i-130 petition. My questions are, does the form have to be filled out in English even if my wife only speaks Spanish? At the moment I'm not with her in Mexico, so is it ok if my dad helps her fill it out in English? Also for the name of employer and address section, is the name of the employer the company name or the direct boss' name? And does the employer address have to be the exact street address or can it be just city/state/country? And finally, does it have to be typed or can it be filled out by hand? Thank you all in advance for your responses. Sam

1) YES it has to be filled out in English and YES your dad can fill it out BUT have your wife sign it.

2) Just write the company name and the location where she is working . ( i.e 22 5th str new mexico)

3) you can type or fill it out by hand just use capital letters and BLACK ink

My recommendation for all forms is to use all caps ONLY for family names and country names. It only matters who signs the form, not who fills it out. I recommend filling it out yourself by typing in the PDF form, then email the form to your spouse, to print, sign and mail back to you.

thank you all for the responses. ok so my parents are with her in mexico right now and they are comming back on wednesday. would it be ok if my wife signs the form, have my parents bring it to me and then i'll fill it out by hand here? would it matter if the handwriting is different than the signature?

also at the bottom of the form there is a section that says: this form is submitted in connection with an application for: 1.naturalization 2.status as permanent resident 3.other. my question is, should i choose 2.status as permanent resident? or should i choose 3.other and add in connection with form i-130?

again thank you for the helpful response

oh. and one more question. the names of the two companies she worked for are in spanish. should i leave them that way or should i also translate the company names into english?

I would suggest choosing the form is in connection with an application for #2. status as a PR.

And I think it would be just fine to have your parents bring the signed form to you when they return from Mexico, and you fill it in as previously suggested.

I don't know about the rest, but I bet English would be best.
