Getting in and out of Ciudad Juarez Safely

Question for those of you who have experienced the stupidity/malice of the US government's decision to centralize all visa interviews in the murder capital of North America. How did you get in and out of Ciudad Juarez safely? I understand that the zone around the consulate is heavily protected, but getting in and out of it can be dangerous. My fiancée is definitely not traveling by bus - we'll go by plane - but how do you get from the airport to the protected zone safely? Which hotels have you used, and what are the safety features of those hotels? How did you get from the hotel to the medical appointment and the consulate interview? Are there safe shuttle services that you can use to get between these locations? My fiancée is really scared of this trip, and we're willing to spend upwards of $1000 to do it safely.

Thanks.

Juarez is like any other city in Mexico, good and bad neighborhoods... is completely safe from the airport to take a taxi, in the hotels there are taxi services too. If she is so scare she can look for a hotel in what you call safe zone. We use the Ibis. Im from Mexico city and for real is not that bad at all, just with the same caution as any other place. Calm down and enjoy the journey, all mexicans were there and we are all safe and happy with our love ones now...

I love you Charles forever!!

my husband also stayed at Ibis hotel and flew in to CDJ from Mexico City, and no issues in Juarez at all. he said everyone is welcoming and really helpful. he took a taxi from the airport to Ibis and also back to the airport and never felt scared or anything. good luck.
